Position Title Computer Solutions Technician III FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Work Schedule M-F 8:30-5 Grade 11 Compensation Range $25.79-33.89 hourly Summary Create and implement computing solutions for individual users, workgroups and college classrooms. This includes telephones, printers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, and other peripheral equipment. Research new applications and solutions to ensure secure computing at the endpoints. Install new hardware and software. Diagnose and correct technology problems in faculty and staff areas, remote laptops, classrooms, event setup, AV equipment, and conference rooms. Repair equipment and resolve software problems. Maintain network connectivity for all office, classroom and remote equipment. Create and update images and software deployments. Assist as necessary both the Network and Server Groups. Act as the on campus subject matter expert for the college's telecommunications equipment and services, classroom and remote systems. Assist with the technical aspect for EOP functions. Essential Role Responsibilities * Support faculty, staff, and students in the use of computing equipment and software. * Support faculty and staff with mobile device wireless configurations and cellphone activation/setup. * Troubleshoot and diagnose technology problems including computers, printers, software and phones. * Coordinate repair, installation or replacement of equipment and software. * Maintain parts, equipment, and software inventory. * Evaluate, recommend and test technology equipment and software. * Maintain the college's public address system. * Assist with the EOP college-wide notification systems. * Deploy system images using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and Microsoft Configuration Manager. * Deploy software using end point management solutions. * Deploy, manage and configure printer settings utilizing a printer server management tool. * Manage administrator right escalation using privilege management tools. * Diagnose and assist in resolving network connectivity problems including telephone and data cabling throughout the college campus. * Update accounts and permissions in an Active Directory environment. * Manage Tripwire servers for Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance - perform health checks, review changes, backup databases as needed. * Provide support for HCC's labs including dental (HIPAA), cyber security, nursing, Allied Health, and esports. * Remediate software vulnerabilities. * Manage various contractors as needed. * Develop and provide training for staff, faculty, students. * Coordinate work for part-time interns and volunteers. * Account for all core work in an ITSM ticketing platform, including status, resolution and time worked. * Document, maintain and improve processes and procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Required Associate's degree Experience Required 1 Preferred Experience * Associate's degree in CS or related program and 1 year of experience in a technical computer field required or Microsoft certification/training with 3 years of direct experience in the field or an approved combination of education, training, and experience. * CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications are recommended. * Detailed functional knowledge of current Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems and applications. * Detailed functional knowledge of imaging software. * Detailed functional knowledge of endpoint management tools such as MS configuration manager, JAMF, Intune. * Detailed functional knowledge of enterprise technology equipment. * Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting. * Working knowledge of networking protocols including IP, DNS and DHCP. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory. * Knowledge of hand tools and electrical safety procedures.
