POSITION SUMMARY: The Cook is responsible for preparing consistently high-quality, visually appealing foods for the breakfast buffet and evening service at the Oxford Collection Suites. This role ensures that all food items are fresh, properly prepared, and presented attractively, while maintaining strict sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety standards. The Cook also assists with inventory management, food preparation, and maintaining a well-organized kitchen environment to support smooth daily operations. They always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with guests to ensure every aspect of their stay meets or exceeds expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times. Food and Beverage Service (80%): Prepare and cook food for buffet service, ensuring setup, quality, and consistency meet Oxford standards Prepare hors d'oeuvres for the afternoon reception, maintaining freshness and presentation Assist with menu preparation, contributing ideas and ensuring proper execution Maintain food presentation and temperature control, ensuring an appealing and safe dining experience for both buffet and bistro service Prepare and provide food for banquet functions as needed, ensuring quality, presentation, and service standards are met Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining area as needed, including dishwashing in the absence of a dishwasher and sanitizing food-contact surfaces throughout the day Assist with food and supply orders, receiving and properly storing shipments Ensure food quality meets expectations, including taste, texture, and visual presentation Clear and clean tables after guest use, ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager. Guest Relations (10%): Greet and interact with guests warmly, creating a welcoming dining environment Actively listen to guest concerns and address issues promptly, ensuring satisfaction Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in all guest and coworker interactions Other (10 %): Complete daily activity logs, documenting shift details for the leadership team and coworkers Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to ensure smooth service delivery Coordinate with the front desk, maintenance staff, Food and Beverage Manager, and General Manager to address operational needs Adhere to attendance policies and maintain availability for scheduled shifts Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations Additional tasks may be assigned, modified or changed as no employee has any inherent right to any particular job or authority.
