Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. xevrcyc Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.

CITY OF MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION TITLE: DETENTION OFFICER PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION The purpose of this classification is to provide and maintain security, safety, care, and control of inmates, detention facility, and facility equipment and to supervise inmates in the city jail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Enforces all the rules and regulations of the jail; maintains safety and security of the general public, facility staff, and inmates; takes custody of new arrivals; escorts inmates to various parts of the jail facility.
Receives/processes incoming inmates; explains jail rules, regulations and procedures; searches prisoners, conducts property inventory, and secures personal property; prepares in-processing documentation; makes photographs and fingerprint records of incoming prisoners; obtains NCIC background reports; conducts book-in interviews; answers questions from prisoners.
Determines appropriate classification of each inmate according to charges, medical condition, and/or security risk; refers juveniles to a certified Juvenile Officer for further processing; segregates prisoners into proper cells; assigns jail housing; issues clothing, bedding and personal hygiene items.
Monitors inmate activities inside the facility on a continual basis, such as during meals, cleaning activities, visitation, personal hygiene, and related activities; takes and records periodic headcounts of inmates; conducts medical/sick call to distribute medications; controls movements of inmates; transports prisoners to medical facilities statewide, other law enforcement facilities, or other locations as assigned.
Coordinates, monitors, or performs various functions associated with ensuring the health, safety and welfare of inmates, which may include preparing/cooking and serving of meals, provision of clothing/bedding, provision of medical aid/supplies, coordination of visitation and telephone communications.
Maintains security of facility; performs periodic security checks of facility; monitors video surveillance equipment; checks door locks; controls door operations; conducts emergency fire drills; conducts jail shakedowns; searches inmates, cells, building and ground areas to locate/remove contraband and to maintain security; assists in controlling/restraining violent/unruly prisoners.
Supervises inmates attending visitation, during meals, and during medical call; reports unusual observations to superiors; oversees the cleaning of inmates' quarters or cleans cells upon prisoner release.
Monitors base and two-way radio as assigned; responds to prisoner, employee, or facility emergencies by operating fire suppression equipment, administering medications, and providing first-aid and/or CPR when needed.
Conducts release of prisoners per established procedures; prepares out-processing documentation; runs NCIC reports on inmates; releases prisoners upon bonding out, for termination of cases, or for placement on probation.

Attends shift meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required to maintain knowledge of departmental and city operations, to promote improved job performance, and to maintain knowledge of changing policies, procedures, codes, and laws.

Prepares inmates for video bond hearings and court, making sure all proper paperwork is complete and handed to clerk of courts office.

Answers emergency and non-emergency calls, enter calls into the Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, and perform other dispatching tasks within the communication center as needed; answers RDD calls, and Language lines; provides information for non-emergency calls and answers questions, takes messages, and/or refers caller to appropriate staff; contacts various other departments as needed to resolve problems such as streetlights being out, downed street signs, roadway debris, and power outages.
Transports inmates after bond hearings and court dates to and from JRL and other facilities statewide, sometimes multiple times a day.
Performs functions related to live scan/ink printing; files print cards; logs ten-prints from dispatch; crosschecks ten-prints with inmate booking info to confirm identities.
Maintains the doors, batteries, and cleanliness of sally port.
Secures and maintains overflow/large properties from inmates; keeps log and disposes of property at city dump after 30 day holds.
Keeps inventory of all jail equipment including tasers, radios, keys, handcuffs, and leg irons.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs court services such as assisting with proceedings in juvenile, probation, magistrate, and/or superior courts, providing safety and security, preparing courtroom for use, and maintaining order.
Substitutes for co-workers in temporary absence of same; may be required to regularly work on various shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as deemed necessary; may perform shift supervisor tasks.

Job description - We are seeking a professional, proactive individual that is self-motivated and confident in making decisions and to assist in ensuring the safety of all guests, owners and team members. The security agent will identify and report incidents on and around the property to the MOD or Night Auditor. The security agent will work closely with all departments to ensure the safety of employees and guests.
Job responsibilities -
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems/safety hazards
Inform MOD or Night Auditor for assistance when needed (police, Ems, fire department, etc.)
Completes incident reports to document all Loss Prevention related incidents
Maintains confidentiality of all Loss Prevention and property reports/documents; releases information only to authorized individuals.
Performs routine and random inspections of the building and grounds protecting property from theft, embezzlement, vandalism, fire, and accidents. Good understanding of emergency systems and alarm systems.
Maintains inspection reports and turns in nightly
Provides outstanding guest/owner service at all times including answering general inquiries, providing directions, delivering packages/amenities
Patrol of the interior and perimeter of resort to observe and identify. Potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
Other requests of management to help co- workers with their job duties

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Maintain a sentry post at the entrance to the construction area to keep unauthorized persons from entering the active construction zone
Perform escort duties for bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is being operated outside the designated construction area and members of the public are present. Tasks may be performed by walking or by use of Utility Vehicle
Perform pipe security check by walking or driving the shorepipe to identify any security or safety concerns as they relate to the general public. Examples include:
Identifying areas where the public is not using crossover
Identifying areas where the shorepipe is leaking and may cause safety hazard to the public
Periodically the employee will be required to spend 2-3 days watching safety training videos prudent to their job duties
May be assigned to other duties
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be capable and possess the ability to walk on uneven surfaces (e.g., beach sand).
Must be capable of performing escort duties for the bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is being operated outside the designated construction area and members of the public are present. (Tasks may be performed by walking or driving)
Must have good communications skills; both verbal & written
Must have solid interpersonal skills to interact with the public
Candidates will need their own steel toed boots (non-billable to GLDD); GLDD will provide the remaining PPE equipment.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work

* Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do and assists Store Leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both Associates and Customers.
* Provides visible "command" presence, including prominent greetings with eye contact, at Store entrances/exits and on sales floor in a Company issued vest/required black attire, monitoring for potential safety issues.
* Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
Developing Great Teams & Partnerships:
* Provides great Customer service by prominently greeting Customers, making eye contact, smiling and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
* Treats all Customers and Associates with respect.

* High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
* One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
