POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for advancing enterprise-wide reporting capabilities to both internal and external partners, including but not limited to, data aggregators, drug manufacturers, payers, hubs, 3PL, clinical care teams, and executive management. Your Role on Our Team:
As a Staff Data Scientist - Promo Analytics, you will serve as a senior technical leader, driving the architecture and delivery of innovative analytics solutions that enable Milwaukee Tool to make fast, data-driven decisions about promotional strategies. Working closely with business partners and the Promo Analytics pod, you will design, build, and support the foundational systems that power our promo analytics capabilities. You will develop and implement scalable machine learning models and forecasting tools to optimize promotions, ensuring trusted and actionable insights across the organization. You'll build deep expertise in our promotional data, shape long-term analytics strategy, and lead advanced analytics initiatives. Success in this role requires technical excellence, a passion for experimentation, and the ability to influence and elevate the team while delivering significant business value.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Architect, design, and build scalable machine learning and forecasting models to optimize promotional strategies and drive significant business impact.
Set technical direction for promo analytics, establishing best practices and standards for model development, validation, and deployment.
Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics frameworks, reusable tools, and templates to accelerate team and organizational productivity.
Translate complex, cross-functional business needs into actionable datascience projects and long-term analytics strategy.
Oversee and guide the integration of promo analytics solutions across multiple business domains, ensuring consistency and scalability.
Lead root cause analysis for major promo analytics issues, drive long-term remediation, and influence operational reliability improvements.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data scientists and analytics professionals within the pod and across teams.
Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Business Intelligence Engineers, and other technical team members to deliver integrated, enterprise-scale solutions.
Engage directly with marketing and sales leadership to understand strategic business challenges and deliver high-impact analytics solutions.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, DataScience, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8 or more years of experience in datascience, advanced analytics, or a closely related technical field.
Expert-level proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques.
Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language used for datascience (Python preferred)
Extensive hands-on experience building, validating, and deploying scalable machine learning and forecasting models in production environments.
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based datascience platforms (Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, or similar).
Proven track record developing and implementing complex statistical and ML models for business impact, ideally in pricing, promotion, or revenue management.
Strong knowledge of experimental design, A/B testing, and model evaluation best practices.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional analytics initiatives and set technical direction for datascience projects.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, especially in complex, multi-system environments.
Ability to thrive in agile, dynamic, and collaborative teams, and to communicate complex analytics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Purpose:
We are hiring an experienced real-world data scientist to join our Real-World DataScience (RWDS) team. As an Associate Director of RWDS, you will be an analytic researcher informing and conducting Real World Data (RWD) studies at any time in the drug lifecycle.
You will work directly within the RWDS team to execute observational studies for internal and external consumption and partner closely with Development, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance/Pharmacoepidemiology colleagues in their research. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with others in RWDS, Biostatistics and the broader Quantitative Sciences & Evidence Generation department to enhance our RWD and analytics offerings.
RWDS is multidisciplinary and provides RWE strategic input, study design, statistical and programming support to projects. Team members apply their unique knowledge, skills and experience in teams to deliver decision-shaping real-world evidence.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide best-in-class datascience support to Astellas drug development programs & marketed products in relation to RWD
Design of observational studies (primary and/or secondary data)
Execute (program and analyze) observational studies using in-house RWD or oversee vendors or other RWDS staff in executing observational studies
Write, review, or contribute to key study documents to ensure optimal methodological & statistical presentation. These documents include, protocols, analysis plans, tables and figure (TLF) specifications, study reports, publications
Ensure efficient planning, execution and reporting of analyses
Advise as subject matter expert in specific data access partnerships
Represent the company on matters related to RWD analysis at meetings with regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders and similar experts/bodies as needed
Contributes to vendor selection with partner functions
Participate in the creation and upkeep of best practices, tools/macros, and standards related to methods, data and data analysis at Astellas
Collaborate with RWDS and Biostatistics colleagues and cross-functional teams in Development, Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance
Mentor and guide junior members of the RWD Analytics team
