SAAF provides sexual health education, STI and HIV testing and counseling, medical care, case management, housing and meal support, mental health services and referrals for dental health. Access to care and early intervention have a significant impact on the health and well-being of people living with HIV. Position SAAF provides three meals per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year to people living with HIV. The Dietary Aide is responsible for kitchen and dining room clean up, receiving food deliveries, and assisting the cook in food preparation and serving our clients. This position demands a high level of cultural competency of the unique needs of the LGBTQIA++ community, communities of color, and other marginalized populations. Duties and responsibilities Follow all San Antonio Metro Health District health and safety rules regarding food preparation and cleanliness Maintain the cleanliness of SAAF facilities Wash dishes Assist in food preparation Maintain chemicals for dish machine and dish washer Sweep and mop kitchen/dining room floors The employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Unloading and storing of groceries and other kitchen supplies Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum qualifications High School diploma or GED required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and will occasionally work outdoors. The employee will work near or with hot items, mechanical and electrical equipment. The employee may work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays while performing the duties of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work with hands in water. Exposure to heat and/or cold temperatures. Work around equipment with moving parts.
