Daily Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on support with daily living skills, personal care, and goal setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in accordance with individualized service plans (ISPs).
Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.

Foster community integration by accompanying individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and volunteer/work sites.
Document daily activities, progress notes, behavioral observations, and incidents accurately and timely.
Promote independence, dignity, and choice for all individuals supported.
Respond appropriately to crisis situations, using de-escalation techniques and behavioral support plans when necessary.
Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment in all settings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (preferred).
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role preferred, but not required-training provided.

Franklin Medical Center is a step down facility with a hospital like setting for offenders from correctional facilities across the state of Ohio that require medical care. It also has many specialty clinics and offers long term and short term car for both male and female offenders.
What You'll Do:
Assists patients to function independently in self-help and daily living skills by using variety of training techniques according to prescribed treatment plan at Franklin Medical Center (FMC) and assists with provisions of daily living activities (e.g., bathing and dressing, incontinence care, shaving, brushing teeth, clipping finger/toenails, serving meals, feeding meals)
Takes vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, and weight)
Measures and records meal and fluid intake, urinary and fecal output
Turns and repositions bedridden patients
Transfers/lifts patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables
Transports patients as needed
Examines patients for bruises, blood in urine and/or other injuries/wounds
Changes bed linens
Restocks rooms with necessary supplies
Answers call lights and assists patients accordingly
Observes patient behavior, complaints and physical symptoms and reports to nurses
Completes timely documentation of all care provided and data collected.

A Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) is a direct care worker that helps residents with daily living skills and assists them with becoming more independent, to achieve their goals. Support given to the individual will vary based on each person's needs and capabilities.
Key TPW Tasks:
Assists with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, communication, money management, etiquette, and social skills
Implements active treatment activities such as gym, pavilion, activity room and pool
Assists with planning and shopping activities (e.g., shopping, vocational skills, hair appointments)
