1. Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living to residents based on age, needs and abilities of the resident: placing and/or receiving telephone calls, performing light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathroom, bed making and bed changes, assisting with laundry, escorting the resident and coordinating internal transportation needs and assisting with mail delivery and correspondence
3. Assists the resident with self-administration of medications, through cueing only
4. Observes and reports changes in the residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services, as needed
5. Conducts room checks on resident rounds, monitors for environmental safety hazards, records incidents, errors or accidents and records resident and resident related events.
5. Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining (escorting residents, set-up and clean-up, serving meals)
6. Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident centered activity program. Completes required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift
7. Is a resident advocate at all times
8. Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality
9. Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations and follows up with appropriate staff, resident or others regarding reported
complaints, problems and concerns.
10. Acts as ambassador to guest and other off-campus visitors and maintains certifications required for employment
11. Performs other duties as required

Our DirectSupportProfessionals are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support.
Essential Functions:
Deliver training, support, and assistance to participants in the areas of personal care, recreation and leisure, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, personal preferences, exercising of individual rights, community integration, and behavior management.
Participate in the design, implementation and monitoring of the participants individualized support plan. Your observations and opinions are crucial to tailoring an achievable plan.
Accurately administer prescribed medications to participants as ordered by physicians.
Accurately complete required documentation including but not limited to program data, incident reports, daily log, progress notes, and health records.
Always ensure participants health and safety including but not limited to prevention of abuse, perform CPR, perform Standard First Aid, perform Heimlich procedure, and evacuate participants in case of a fire.
Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
Prepare participants meals following published menus.
Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health

We are seeking a Companion Caregiver to join our team! The ideal candidate will be someone who lives in and around Stafford, CT. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of seniors by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include activities of daily living, light housekeeping, and medication reminders. The client has cats and does not smoke. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Tolerant of small pets
Compassionate, respectful, ethical
