    Leader job at DoorDash

About the Team DashMart is a new kind of online grocery and convenience store owned and operated by DoorDash. Customers order their food in the DoorDash app, and our team members prepare, pick and pack orders in a real, brick-and-mortar store for our Dashers to deliver to our customers with quality and speed. We're looking for someone to help scale DoorDash's next billion dollar business, DashMart, by growing our in-house food program, DashMart Kitchens. The DashMart Kitchens team is focused on building a new type of restaurant platform within DashMart, offering a broad selection of prepared foods and well-known restaurant staples to our customers' doorsteps. About the Role DashMart Kitchens is looking for a people-focused Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment and enjoys balancing hands-on fieldwork with team leadership. In this role, you'll lead and develop a team of Culinary Trainers while continuing to support the launch and stabilization of DashMart Kitchens concepts in the field. You'll oversee training execution, coordinate launches, onboard new trainers, and track training effectiveness across multiple culinary concepts-working closely with Culinary, Kitchen Operations, and Project Management partners. You will report to the Manager of Training. You're excited about this opportunity because... Launching New Concepts & Coordinating Coverage: Oversee and coordinate trainer resourcing for new concept launches. Partner with site operators and central teams to ensure launches are properly staffed, training plans are executed on time, and trainers are set up for success in the field. When necessary, also work hands-on with our Site Operators to administer training & support in the field. Training & Up-leveling Associates: Provide continuous support to site teams through regular training touch-points, auditing of material and process adherence. Ensure teams consistently uphold high operational standards, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce best practices to drive sustainable operations. Leading & Developing a Training Team: Manage, coach, and support a team of Culinary Trainers. Own performance management, development planning, and ongoing feedback to ensure trainers are effective, engaged, and growing in their roles. Own onboarding for new Culinary Trainers, including shadowing plans and training readiness. Ensure trainers are aligned on expectations, training standards, and best practices. Project Management: Owns projects end-to-end by defining success metrics, coordinating cross-functional partners, assigning clear ownership, and proactively removing or escalating blockers to keep timelines on track. Maintaining Flexibility: Maintain an adaptable schedule to ensure we can fully support site teams when and where they need us. Training sessions may occur across various dayparts, and our goal is to maximize coverage and impact throughout the day. Training Effectiveness & Quality Assurance: Track training progress, effectiveness, and outcomes across sites. Audit training execution, identify trends or gaps, and partner with cross-functional teams to continuously improve training programs and materials. Collaborating & Problem-Solving: Partner closely with site operators and central stakeholders to troubleshoot challenges, share insights from the field, and align on operational improvements. Step in as a leader when needed to stabilize operations, reinforce standards, and support teams in real time. We're excited about you because… You are a strong people leader who enjoys coaching, developing, and empowering others while holding teams accountable to high standards. You're self-motivated, positive, and a team player, that works well with others, but also excels in roles with little oversight. You're organized, thoughtful, and comfortable balancing execution with strategy in a fast-moving environment. You have 3+ years of experience cooking and training in a high-volume kitchen environment including fast-casual, QSR, and from-scratch restaurants. You have 3+ years of people management experience, including leading, coaching, and developing a team in a fast-paced, operational environment. You're scrappy. You are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done whether it's digging into a new process to determine how best to communicate or helping troubleshoot a technical issue. You are data-informed and comfortable tracking training progress, identifying trends, and sharing insights with cross-functional partners. You are proficient in Google Docs/Sheets and creating documentation to track and share findings. You collaborate well across teams and communicate clearly, even when navigating ambiguity or competing priorities. You are willing to travel and be on-site in dynamic restaurant environments. This role requires approximately 50-60% travel to support launches, observe training execution, and provide hands-on coaching. As we scale operations and expand our training needs, this role requires traveling to sites all across the country to monitor and execute training on various concepts. That's why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel. Statement of Non-Discrimination: In keeping with our beliefs and goals, no employee or applicant will face discrimination or harassment based on: race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital/domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability status, or veteran status. Above and beyond discrimination and harassment based on “protected categories,” we also strive to prevent other subtler forms of inappropriate behavior (i.e., stereotyping) from ever gaining a foothold in our office. Whether blatant or hidden, barriers to success have no place at DoorDash. We value a diverse workforce - people who identify as women, non-binary or gender non-conforming, LGBTQIA+, American Indian or Native Alaskan, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, differently-abled, caretakers and parents, and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Thank you to the Level Playing Field Institute for this statement of non-discrimination. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.
