2001 – First version of Drupal is released.
Drupal VZW was officially announced publicly during a talk by Dries Buytaert at DrupalCon Brussels in September of 2006.
2007 – Acquia is founded and Drupal Association is launched
In October 2011, the Drupal Association set up an office in Portland.
Drupal VZW transforms into the Drupal Association in 2011 and becomes more prominent in promoting Drupal and runs Drupalcon.
Since 2011, the Drupal Association has been growing alongside the Drupal Project with continued support from the Drupal community.
2013 – Drupal.org hits 1 million users
Tag1, the publisher, makes the magazine available for purchase in bookstores in 2014.
2014 – Acquia launches a certification program for developers.
In 2016, a Global Training Days Working Group was established to run this program.
