About this position: We are seeking a qualified electrician to join our campus facilities team. This position will work closely with other trade leads and among the public to provide regular facility maintenance as well as production support of events. The work requires a journey level knowledge of electrical concepts, principles, methods and codes and a full knowledge of the operational aspects of both electrical equipment and systems. Here is more of what you will be doing: * Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems such as boilers, pumps, motors, generators, air compressors, fire alarms, refrigerators, overhead doors, electrical equipment on bridges or other electrical devices * Install, repair and maintain all electrical systems under the direction of the electrical crew chief * Teamwork and clear, concise, communication with staff, venue operators and the public are essential for safe and efficient operations * Troubleshoot systems which include some electronics * Install lighting fixtures, power outlets, control devices, heaters, thermostats, computer cables or cathodic protection equipment * Run conduit and pull wire for new and/or existing electrical installations * Modify or rewire existing electrical installations * Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment * Purchase and/or order electrical supplies or parts from vendors, warehouse or distributors * Review blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installations * Replace ballasts, drivers & fuses, changes lamps in LED, fluorescent, HID and incandescent lighting fixtures * Install temporary power systems for special events Minimum Qualifications * Requires completion of an accepted four-year apprenticeship training program and journey-level electrician status (or an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or experience).
