REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience and an undergraduate or advanced degree in electricalengineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or physics. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Launch Vehicles business group.
Roles and Responsibilities
The candidate will serve as an Integration and Test ElectricalEngineer Intern for one of our launch vehicle programs, requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities may require direct contact with launch vehicle flight hardware and electrical ground support equipment.
Specific duties may include:
Performing hands-on electrical testing at a systems level
Maintaining procedures for the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems
Incorporating hardware and/or software design changes
Documenting & dispositioning hardware discrepancies, pursuing root cause & corrective actions
Constant and timely communication with other team members
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
Be majoring in ElectricalEngineering or a related field
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Ability to lead out at solving problems and driving all tasks to completion
Ability to work at a fast pace, while multi-tasking, and still communicate effectively
Ability to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
Hands-on electrical testing and diagnostic experience
Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
Intern Pay Range:
Bachelor's: $18.75 to $34.50 per hour
Master's: $27.00 to $42.50 per hour
