Providing direct patient care to inpatients in need of hemodialysis.
Supervising care and treatments, conducting patient assessments, creating personalized care plans, and addressing patient concerns.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates Degree in Nursing required. BSN preferred.
License and Certifications
Registered with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas.
Clinical Documentation Specialist Certification preferred
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum of four years of acute care hospital experience, critical care experience preferred.
Knowledge of contents and use of end coder is essential, or proficiency achieved within 6 months of hire.
Strong understanding of pathophysiology and clinical disease progression. Ability to interpret and apply diagnostic data (labs, imaging, medication and clinical indicators)
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, ability to integrate knowledge with job situations.
Excellent oral/written communication skills. Performs follow-up review of all charts within 48 hours to ensure issues discussed and clarified with the physician have been recorded in the patient's chart, and updates DRG worksheet to reflect any changes in patient status, procedures/treatments, and confers with the physician to finalize diagnoses.
Ensures concurrent documentation across disciplines to accurately capture Quality Indicators for select diagnoses and meet CMS and JCAHO quality reporting standards.
Educate providers and internal stakeholders on documentation best practices, clinical indicators, and CMS/Coding requirements
Maintain a strong understanding of CMS guidelines, coding rules, and CDI best practices
Participate in performance improvement, audits, and program development activities

Performs a variety of professional medical nursing duties under the direction and supervision of the Psychiatrist; collects of routine laboratory specimen, administers injectable medications, administers emergency medication, communicates with pharmacies regarding doctor's orders for medications and related duties
Counts and documents locked as-needed medications
Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team
Educates clients to possible side effects of injectable medications
Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed as a RegisteredNurse in the state of Oklahoma
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in use of physical assessment skills and the ability to handle medical emergencies
Must be able to work shift-work
One year experience preferred
Knowledge and experience working with administration of psychotropic medications, preferred
Knowledge of psychiatric nursing, practices, techniques and procedures, preferred
Experience working in a psychiatric setting, preferred
Certification in mental health nursing a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
Ability to use telephone, PC, fax machine, copy machine, and printer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE REGISTEREDNURSE (RN):
Provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patient, develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure physician's orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
Ensure patient's status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information gathered is documented. Notify physician of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergency or change in medical status regarding response to medications, etc.
Nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs. Initial treatment plan is completed upon admission.
Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
Accurately administer medications per ordered note and document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
Responsible for completing admission and discharge processed efficiently and accurately as directed.
Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment.
Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and others involved in patient treatment in an effective manner
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN license in the State of Texas or Multistate License.
CPR and SAMA certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
