This role is supported by grant funding that is approved through June, 2026. The Pediatric Mobile Health unit is a part of the Department of Pediatrics at Hennepin Healthcare. The mobile unit provides care to patients who are reluctant or unable to be seen in a traditional healthcare facility. The mobile unit team consists of a provider (pediatric nurse practitioner or pediatrician), an EMT and a student or resident. The team provides basic health assessments, well child exams, basic labs such, referrals back to a medical home and/or specialty care, and connects families to institutional or community resources that address social determinant of health needs. In addition to providing care to individual household families, the mobile unit also provides conducts pop-up clinics at schools, parking lots, places of worship or other venues in the community. In addition to basic health assessments, staff administer immunizations such as childhood vaccines, influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at pop-up clinics. RESPONSIBILITIES Performs direct patient care tasks after training and competency validation are complete.
