The Engineer, Network is responsible for the implementation and support of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN and SDWAN to support critical healthcare operations across The Guthrie Clinic (TGC). This role ensures high availability and performance for clinical systems, patient care services, and administrative functions across the hospital network. The Engineer collaborates with IT teams, vendors, and hospital stakeholders to align network solutions with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This position will be a technology advocate throughout the organization for the effective application of technology to meet business needs and to support business changes and growth. Education, License & Cert: Two‐year degree in telecommunications related field with at least two years of technical experience, or four years of technical experience. A valid driver's license is required. Maintains neat and accurate records of the physical components of the Avaya PBX system, including wiring diagrams, system hardware configuration, and routing schematics. Maintains inventory of spare parts to be used for equipment repair and for new equipment installation. Monitors specific security indicators periodically to alert TGC to potential security risks. Responsible for protecting The Guthrie Clinic against the misuse or theft of services by ensuring that the appropriate safeguards are activated on the Avaya PBX system. Performs capacity planning as it pertains to Avaya PBX hardware components, lines, trunks, etc. Monitors incoming and outgoing traffic to ensure the efficient and optimal use of the lines.
