    BCDC is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join the Adapting to Rising Tides Data and Science Unit. This position will support this unit, as well as the agency as a whole, with expertise in climate science and sea level rise adaptation as it applies to planning and policy initiatives around coastal management. This position represents a unique opportunity to ensure that regional decisions regarding adaptation planning and shoreline project permitting is informed by cutting-edge academic and scientific research alongside non-traditional or community knowledge. The Environmental Scientist performs complex and specialized science, planning, and policy tasks involving research and analysis, writing, and communications. Specifically, this position may lead or support the following tasks: * Maintaining the Bay Adapt Currents sea level rise adaptation metric dashboard. * Providing scientific support for sea level rise planning related to the Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plan (RSAP). * Providing scientific support for San Francisco Bay Plan (Bay Plan) updates. * Developing tools and trainings to improve permitting efficiency related to sea level rise and Bay Plan climate change policies. * Representing BCDC on collaborative regional scientific efforts.
