Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed. Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event. Customer Experience Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions. Provide fast and friendly check out experience. As Kansas City serves as a host city for World Cup matches, NKC anticipates increased tourism, special events, and global attention. This internship provides hands-on experience in municipal communications, event planning, marketing strategy, and interdepartmental coordination. The intern will assist with planning promotional activities, supporting city-hosted events, managing digital content, coordinating with local businesses, and enhancing the visitor experience during World Cup-related activities. This is a temporary 11-12-week internship, non-benefits eligible position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in planning, organizing, and executing NKC events tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including watch parties, community festivals, cultural programs, and visitor engagement activities.
