JOBS SUMMARY: The Satellite CAC Family Advocate position is a full-time position. The Family Advocate (FA) will assist CAC Manager in providing support to child victims of abuse and non-offending caretakers (NOCs) according to established policies and procedures. FA will report directly to the CAC Manager and will help plan, implement and evaluate intervention and follow-up services. Complete risk assessments and safety plans with non-offending caretakers; provide information and referral to other community agencies; work with families to improve the family support system and increase the family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children with further duties listed below. Following training, this position will operate out of the satellite sites in Dickenson, Lee, and Scott Counties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement Family Advocate program
Maintain regular phone contact/follow-up with families and children.
Provide NOC with parent education/information about supporting their child who has been abused.
Provide crisis intervention services to child and family as needed at CAC.
Obtain child well-being concerns and problematic symptoms from caretakers at visits as needed and provide NOC with supportive services.
Provide appropriate intervention and support to families during the investigations, court preparation, treatment, and prosecution phases of the case progression.
Provide education and support to parents/non-offending caretaker during forensic interviews.
Assist therapist/case managers in obtaining background information about the child and family at the time of the intake assessment.
Discuss Family Information Packet, obtain signatures on confidentiality/permission forms, and explain CAC services to NOCs.
Assist CAC staff with completing case tracking information and maintaining proper recordkeeping. Enter information into computer and/or report information for CAC reports.
Assist therapist and MDT in coordinating services.
Make referral appointments with other therapist/treatment providers in community and provide follow-up services for families discharged from program.
Complete risk assessments and parent/child relationship inventories with NOCs.
Participate in on-the-job training and continuing education related to CAC.
Develop and maintain a resource library within the CAC, for use by NOCs, child victims, and community partners/agencies.
Obtain satisfaction surveys and enter into OMS data system.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Program Overview:
In partnership with Tennessee's Department of Children's Services (DCS), Youth Villages provides family-centered, strength-based services to youth from birth to age 18 through the Family Service Worker (FSW) program. Focused on delivering case management services, custodial families are referred by other DCS program areas, juvenile courts, or self-referral. Staff provide on-call crisis support, identify services and resources tailored to each family's unique needs, and utilize formal and informal assessments for case planning. Goals include increasing stability, strengthening relationships, building self-sufficiency, and enhancing well-being and permanency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Family Service Worker:
Carries a caseload of 15 to 20 cases
Serves as a youth's guardian and must be aware of DCS policies that guide care and services
Creates and monitors permanency plans so that adequate services and assistance are provided to youth and families
Delivers services in the family's home or wherever they need us (school, court, etc.)
Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location)
Ensures all medical, dental, and educational needs are met and accurately documented
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical skills
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)
Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.
Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance.
Community-based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage.

Program Overview:
Intercept , developed by Youth Villages, is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program that focuses on keeping families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification after such placements, including foster care, residential treatment facilities, hospitalization, or juvenile detention centers. It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children.
This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family's home and community-Intercept is not an office-based program.
Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family's unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Family Intervention Specialist:
Carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families
Holds individual and family sessions with each family 3 times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families
Conducts on-going assessment of youth to determine their needs from a strength-focused, solution-based perspective
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical skills
Drives up to 60 to 80 miles to meet with families in their homes and communities (additional travel may be required)
Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to formulate a collaborative treatment plan
Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location)
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)
Performs other duties as assigned

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.

The Child and Family Services Clinical Specialist will provide individualized treatment services, which could include attachment and resiliency-based interventions for services in the home and/or community, that may include Parent/Family Engagement, Intensive In-Home services, as well as Crisis Intervention service delivery. This Clinician position may also provide intensive care coordination or general clinical interventions to children, teens, parents/caregivers, adults, and families.
The individual in this position will provide comprehensive casework, which includes both case management and direct clinical services in accordance with established social work principles. The Clinician will support and assist clients and families with personal, family, and social growth, while helping to empower the client and family to the highest level of self-sufficiency. This position will include providing services in the clients home, in community settings, and office-based settings. Position may also require limited on-call duties, as necessary.
Experience and Skills
The CFS Clinical Specialist position requires a minimum of a bachelors degree in a human services field (social work, psychology, counseling, etc.) leading to eligibility for QMHP registration with the Board of Counseling. Masters degree is preferred. Experience working with children and families is required. Supervision for licensure/certification may be available for eligible applicants.
Compensation is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
