Disassemble, finish, fit, check, and assemble parts and assemblies, ensuring proper mating and fit. Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to derive required measurements from parts and assemblies. Lead and work with employees of lower classification, providing guidance and support as needed. Receive work assignments from various sources (e.g., shop lead, online systems, NCR, IP) and coordinate with shop priorities. Ensure correct part numbers and quantities are issued, checking for visible defects against the BOM and IP. Operate mechanical lifts (e.g., tiger and snorkel lifts) as required to move materials safely. Set up assembly tools per tooling instructions or drawings, ensuring all locators are correct for the model configuration. Fabricate detail parts from raw stock and design custom drills, reamers, and core drills for specific tasks.
