Cleans and sanitizes food preparation area and all equipment. * Cleans and maintains all work areas, including sweeping and mopping of all floors, collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers, as appropriate to the area of operation. * Assist inmate workers in washing dinner trays and other kitchen equipment. * Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies. * Maintains knowledge of food preparation, presentation methods, techniques, and food safety procedures. * Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25- 50 lbs. * Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: * Education * General/technical high school diploma or GED equivalent * Vocational training in food service is preferred * Job Experience * 1-3 years of experience * One year of food service experience preferred * Knowledge, skills, and abilities * Will be required to complete the Food Service Sanitation course (ServSafe) and/or the corrections food service course within six (6) months of hire. * Ability to attend Correction Administrative training for basic correctional requirements. * Must adhere to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and attend all training provided by the SCCDOC. * Employment is contingent on successfully passing a full criminal background check.
