Needs Assessor: Will evaluate a youth's needs and determine the best resources or services to address those needs. The Needs Assessor will complete a BioPsychoSocial Assessment (BPS) and the BPS is performed by an independent, licensed clinician who will meet in person/or virtually throughout the state of NJ with the youth and family to determine treatment needs and plan for a range of mental health services provided to your youth. The assessment is completed within the home or community setting and considers the youth's functioning across a variety of life domains. This assessment is necessary for children entering the Children's System of Care and is one of the first steps in initiating services. The Lead Teacher of The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center is responsible for the general supervision and management of a classroom of children between the ages of 8 weeks and 6 years old. The Lead Teacher must be prepared as a teacher of young children with the ability to be sensitive and mature and have the ability to relate well to both children and adults. Must have the personality, patience, creativity and the ability to provide stability for program continuity and must be flexible to work between the hours of 7:15am to 6:00pm. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, supervise and implement the Creative Curriculum daily in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the YWCA Princeton. Responsible for the safety, security and nurturing of the children assigned to the classroom at all times. This includes both inside and outside the classrooms, on walks, in the hallways, and on field trips when applicable. Arrange and plan the program according to the Creative Curriculum to the needs of the individual children, recognizing their differences, special interests, needs, abilities and styles and pace of learning socialization skills. Document attendance, accident reports, medication waivers, and daily care sheets for each child in compliance with the YWCA Princeton and licensing regulations. Record daily observation notes on each child and adjust plans to accommodate specific needs. Use GOLD assessment system for documentation for observing and collecting facts, evaluating each child's progress, summarizing, planning and communicating your findings to parents. Treat all children at all times with dignity and respect, recognizing that each has his/her unique qualities, gifts and needs. Giving special personal attention to each child in the room each day, at the child's eye level and with a pleasant tone. Interact with each child on their eye level and height level, using calm, natural and respectful tones of voice. Greet every child, parent, staff member and visitor with a smile and friendliness. Help children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group Assure safe and sanitary use and maintenance of all classroom equipment and supplies. Conduct parent conferences on children's adjustment to the classroom and appropriate center behavior on an as needed basis (at least twice a year) and in a professional manner. Assist with toileting, diapering, and feeding, cleaning and personal hygiene. Able to lift up to 50 pounds as well as bending, stooping and sitting on a child-sized chair on a daily basis. Participate in daily cleaning routines in accordance with NJ Licensing requirements. In collaboration with the Director of Childcare, Operations and Facilities, ensure that facilities for the TBFECC are safe, clean, attractive, and meet the state and local health and safety regulations for a childcare center. Attend all staff meetings and required training sessions, as well as childcare family events. Responsible for working at least one 6 hour shift during Tiger Camp weekend. The Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for providing child and maternal nutrition support services for enrolled children, their families, and staff. In conformance with Head Start Performance Standards, provide nutrition support services to ensure adherence to USDA/CACFP regulations. Provide nutrition information and support to parents, children, and staff. Maintain and develop cooperative relationships with CHSofNJ families, staff, vendors/agencies, and service providers. Ensure completion of nutrition and lead assessments for all children and pregnant women at enrollment. Monitor children's nutritional risks, including lead exposure, iron-deficiency anemia, and growth assessments, and provide support and referrals for children at risk. Coordinate spring growth assessments for children and monitor children's progress and outcomes. Maintain contact with classroom and home-based staff to assure the timely observation and intervention of dietary/feeding concerns. Maintain accurate up to date, and timely health records according to HS Performance Standards and program procedures, with adequate provisions to protect the privacy and confidentiality of health information. Ensure classroom staff, food handling staff and site supervisors have appropriate paperwork on food allergies and special diets. Provide nutrition counseling with parents, and staff as requested. Participate in Parent Meetings as requested to provide group food/nutrition/food safety education. Help plan and participate in Parent Orientation Night(s) and annual health fair(s). Foster links with various community provider agencies to assist with nutrition needs within the program. Provide nutrition education, support, and referrals for all families of children with a Body Mass Index (BMI) above the eighty-fifth percentile and create healthy eating/healthy living goals as part of their Family Partnership Agreement. Coordinate one-on-one nutrition consultation with parents of children at high nutritional risk. Provide developmentally appropriate nutrition activities/experiences for families including through online/virtual content. Assist with home-based socialization meal planning accommodations for children who require special dietary modifications. Provide breastfeeding support, education, or referrals for pregnant women as needed. Provide nutrition service compliance training to staff annually and as needed. Maintain knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and update service area plan accordingly. Participate in Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC). Provide additional support to the health services team as needed. Qualifications: Work experience with multicultural populations. Ability to write reports and correspondence, and read and interpret documents. Knowledge of various software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Publisher. ChildPlus software or equivalent a plus. Ability to effectively engage and communicate with community members and groups, managers, regulatory agencies, and families both individually and in group settings.
