Garden State CDC company history timeline

1986

​Garden State Episcopal CDC (formerly Jersey City Episcopal CDC) has been serving New Jersey communities since 1986.

1993

In June 1993, a Louisiana bridge inspector who had not traveled to the Four Corners area developed HPS. An investigation was begun.

Then, in early 1993, heavy snows and rainfall helped drought-stricken plants and animals to revive and grow in larger-than-usual numbers.

1996

The exception to this is an outbreak of HPS in Argentina in 1996.

1997

From a staff of one in 1997, GSCDC has grown to exceed 30 full-time staff with an annual budget that exceeds $4 million.

1997 - First executive director was hired

1998

1998 - Acquired Corpus Christi Ministries Housing, Inc. and developed a six-unit building for operations

1999

1999 - Instituted Opportunity Partners, a job readiness and training program

2003

2003 - Initiated Shelter Plus Care program and Hudson Creating Alliances to Shelter All (Hudson CASA) program

2005

2005 - Began administering the Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program for people with ties to Hudson and Essex Counties

2009

2009 - Instituted the Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST) Program, funded by the NJ Division of Mental Health Services.

2012

In 2012, GSCDC announced plans to serve communities through the State of New Jersey.

2013

2013 - Celebrated 25th year of service

2014 - Community Planning initiative, Greenville Community Partnership (GCP), has started implementation and begun receiving funds.
