The SUB AIT program supports the In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing /production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities.
The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United State Navy.
**Requirements**
+ 2+ years' experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.
+ HS/GED
+ Must be US Citizen.
+ Confidential Security Clearance or higher level required.
Personnel shall have at least 2+ years' experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.
Personnel shall have DOW type "final" security clearance (DISCO authority with a minimum of a confidential clearance status).
At a minimum, all personnel shall be United States citizens and shall possess a final favorable adjudicated tier 3 investigation. Contractor personnel must have a Department of War Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) at the confidential level or higher.
Abrasive Blaster Tasks
Large scale abrasive blast removal of preservation coatings (e.g., high solids and non high solids paints)
of interior and exterior submarine tanks (e.g interior storage tanks or external main ballast tanks).
Small and Large Scale abrasive blast surface preparation of external hull, free flood and superstructure
surfaces.
Blast Equipment staging and set up.
Blast Media recovery.
Small area vacuum blasting of submarine hull or interior surfaces in preparation for painting.
Abrasive Blaster Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing abrasive blasting operations on/in commercial ship or U.S. Navy ships/submarines.
Trained and qualified to work with lead, cadmium, chromic acid/chromium, and arsenic as well as mixed solvents.
Certified in accordance with SSPC C-7 or NAVSEA-approved equivalent (Contractor must specify and provide).
Qualified in surface preparation and application of coatings of critically coated areas per NSTM S9086-VD-STM-030/Ch-631 V3R1 - Preservation of Ships in Service. Blasters shall also be familiar with the requirements for standards in SSPC-1, 5 and 10.
Trained at proficient in all aspects of blasting including the proper selection, control and maintenance of blasting and application equipment.
Trained and proficient to perform hazardous large scale blasting operations, in confined and awkward spaces, fully outfitted in coverall and positive pressure air fed blast hoods, and to work safely in dusty and darkened tanks and voids.
Appropriate medical stressors to allow working with "black diamond" compounds.
As a minimum, this will include 29 CFR 1910 medical exams for 121 Beryllium, 124 Cadmium, 133 Chromic acid/Chromium, 161 Lead, and M112 Arsenic.
Trained and qualified to select and wear respirator equipment (e.g., negative pressure respirators, air fed respirators and air fed blast hoods) where required by 29 CFR 1910.
Trained and qualified to wear safety harnesses and work from scaffolds/platforms or other awkward surfaces where required by 29 CFR 1915.
Trained and qualified to wear respiratory protection devices IAW 29 CFR 1910.134

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $40.35 - $54.59. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

HOW A Secondary Firearms Instructor (SFI) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
* Required Experience: SFIs must have a minimum of 5 years of formal experience as an instructor in ALL of the following law enforcement disciplines: firearms; defensive tactics/measures; and use of force.
* The SFI must be a current or former certified law enforcement official or civilian employee having completed a military; state; county or municipally certified firearms training program.
* Associates Degree; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work/military experience.
* The SFI must also comply with all Federal; state; and/or local requirements.
* This position requires applicants to successfully complete the security application and pass a background investigation clearance prior to starting.*
Working Conditions The work is typically performed at an indoor or outdoor gun range. Employees will be required to handle weapons and ammunition in the course of their duties. Exposure to high volumes of noise due to the firing of weapons will occur and employees are required to wear hearing protection in the form of foam ear plugs as well as external hearing protection. Exposure to expelled gun-powder as a result of fired ammunition is expected; and the employees must wash hands after handling ammunition. 3+ years of experience with various types of hand held power tools
Experience defining manufacturing and assembly plans for machining and fabrication of parts, subassemblies, final assemblies.
Experience performing aircraft structural and mechanical work.
