The Grants Manager supports comprehensive grants administration for WGU, spanning pre-award and post-award activities for grants, scholarships, and other externally funded initiatives. This role works collaboratively across Advancement, colleges, business units, and project teams to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive proposals, manage the award acceptance and negotiation process, and ensure full compliance with sponsor, institutional, federal, and state requirements.
The Grants Manager serves as a key partner to grant leaders and internal stakeholders, supporting the lifecycle of funded projects-from researching opportunities and proposal development through award setup, budget tracking, reporting, and closeout. This position ensures that grant activities are executed professionally, efficiently, and in alignment with sponsor requirements and WGU's mission and strategic priorities.

Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with WGU's mission and strategic goals.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and Advancement colleagues to assist with developing and refining grant proposals and budgets.
Manage the proposal submission process, including coordinating documents, routing for approvals, and communicating with sponsors as needed.
Interpret grant solicitations, funder requirements, and relevant regulations to support proposal development.
Assist in the development and refinement of grants management procedures, protocols, and standard practices.
Post-Award Responsibilities
Take a project-management approach to establishing new awards across WGU, including initiating workflows, communication plans, and implementation support.
Ensure ongoing compliance with sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, research regulations, and award terms conditions.
Track grant budgets in collaboration with finance partners; monitor expenditures and ensure allowability.
Support grant leaders in executing project deliverables and troubleshooting implementation issues.
Maintain accurate tracking of post-award activities and grant progress using CRM tools (e.g., Smartsheet and Salesforce).
Oversee preparation and timely submission of progress, financial, and final reports.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop data infrastructure needed to report on outcomes, KPIs, and grant performance.
Engage with sponsors, as appropriate, regarding reporting, program updates, or project changes.
Collaborate with Development and Engagement teams to support funder stewardship and relationship goals.
General Responsibilities
Provide training, guidance, and support to faculty and staff on grants processes, policies, and best practices.

Serves as the County's subject matter expert on Federal, State, and private grants and coordinator of grant expenditure plans. About the Role
ASI is hiring Technical Trainers/Technical Writers at Levels I-IV to support customer learning through a combination of high-quality training delivery and clear, effective instructional documentation. This role requires strong skills in both customer training and technical writing. The balance between training responsibilities and writing responsibilities will vary based on business needs and the skill set of the selected candidate.
While the Technical Communicator/Writer role focuses heavily on comprehensive system documentation and product manuals, the Technical Trainer/Writer role focuses on instructional materials and content that directly support training programs, customer onboarding, and real-world product usage.
This position is hybrid with some onsite training required at our Logan, Utah facility. Travel requirements vary by level.
Job Duties
Training Development & Facilitation
Deliver virtual and in-person training sessions for external customers and internal teams.
Provide hands-on instruction in sandbox environments using ASI's automation and robotic technology.
Customize training programs for industry-specific use cases and customer workflows.
Serve as a technical resource post-training, ensuring customer understanding and successful adoption.
Gather customer feedback and collaborate with internal teams to improve training content and delivery methods.
Technical Writing & Instructional Content Development

Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with current product behavior.
Manage updates to training materials as product features evolve.
Process Improvement & Strategic Contributions (Levels III-IV)
Evaluate training and documentation effectiveness through surveys, analytics, and customer feedback.
Recommend and implement enhancements to training methodologies.
Lead train-the-trainer programs and mentor junior team members.
Work cross-functionally to align training content with broader product documentation strategies.
Contribute to scalable systems and processes that support global training deployments.

Comfortable independently delivering small-group training sessions.
Technical Trainer/Writer III (Includes Level II Requirements +)
Current hiring level
7+ years of experience in training development, delivery, and instructional documentation.

Experience producing mid- to high-complexity instructional content that supports training workflows.
Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear training materials.
Experience assessing training effectiveness and driving improvements.
