QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience operating tools, chainsaws, and large equipment is preferred. Quick learning abilities are accepted in lieu of experience.
Must have (or be willing and able to obtain within 12 months of employment) a Class A commercial driver's license.
Must have (or be willing and able to obtain within two years of employment) the qualifications of a line-clearance tree trimmer.
Must have (or be willing and able to learn) the ability to efficiently and accurately operate electronic mobile devices.
Requires ability and willingness to complete an apprenticeship training program by the end of the third year.
Requires willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a CPR Certification and learn other life-saving techniques.
Requires willingness and ability to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow/ice, etc.
Requires willingness and ability to participate in the on-call and call-out schedules, and Emergency Response Plan, and promptly respond outside of normal working hours.

Climbs trees for trimming along energized high-voltage powerlines, as qualified.
Climbs poles and performs pole-top rescue, as qualified.
Sees that any vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies assigned are properly used and kept in good condition.
Uses safety equipment as needed and practices safe working habits.
While operating a vehicle, complies with all traffic laws, safety rules and regulations, and safe practices, ensuring the safety of the vehicle, its occupants and load, bystanders, and the public.
Observes and inspects powerlines and poles for hazardous conditions or other conditions that might cause a power failure. Accurately collects and reports inspection data.
As qualified and as assigned, assists line crews during normal daily operations.
As qualified, serves as a helper to Journeyman/Lineman during outage restoration events.
Performs other duties as requested or required.

Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Executive Director.
Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off or the password protected automatic screen-saver activates within established facility policy guidelines.
