Lou Gehrig got his start here as "Lou Lewis" for the Hartford Senators in 1921.
Gehrig was back again with the Senators in 1923 and was terrible for a while — until he started hitting home runs, including what was called "the longest home run on record in Hartford" when the Senators defeated Bridgeport.
