Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible. Inspect tables for proper presentation. When the restaurant is on a wait for tables, record the guest's information in the NoWait App and provide the guest with an estimated wait time. Notify guests via the No Wait App when their table is ready. Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible. Make friendly conversation with guests as you walk them to their table. Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of the server's name. Handle food: chips and salsa Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Server/ Waiter responsibilities include greeting and serving members/guest, providing detailed information on menus, and multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties. Job Functions Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred. Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude. Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner. Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions. Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred. Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card. Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
