HOST/HOSTESS JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Host/Hostess Reports to: Manager on Duty
The first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter Wings Etc. It is the function of the host/hostess to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service from Wings Etc.by their exchange with the host/hostess.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Make sure all menus are wiped down, free of spots or stains, and complete.
• Make sure entry doors are clean, free of debris and inviting.
• Check with manager to assure there are no large or private parties you do not know about.
• Greets guests, escorts them to their table, pull seat out for the ladies, and present menus.
• Communicates to the server they have been sat.
• Keep in constant contact with manager with wait list. Indicates to guest numbers of tables in front of them.
• Keep an eye out that the dining room, entryway, bathrooms, and menus are kept clean throughout operations.
• Say good-bye to all of the guests. Check to see that everything was wonderful.
• Informs manager with every guest and if there was any kind of problem quickly get a manager.
• May prepare beverages and expedite food orders.
• Executes the outs checklist to Wings Etc. Standards
• Assists Servers/Bartenders in bussing of tables.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Prepares the tables, laying out the napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, while performing all other preparation tasks (coffee, tea, etc.)
Clears tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware etc. in appropriate areas for washing - separating plates, silverware, glasses and linens to designated areas.
Promptly cleans table tops, chairs, and booths between seating. Also including the railing around the still.
Stays up to date on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen is running out or low on any items.
Gathers information on large parties, reservations, or events from the host.
Assists in directing customers to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers on food preparation details, and communicate specific customer needs to the cooks.
Maintains proper dining experience, delivers items, fulfills customer needs, offers desserts and drinks, removes finished courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling water and soft drinks.
Uses the proper garnishes, china, glassware and flatware for all food and beverages.
Responsible for communicating guest food allergies to the kitchen as you become aware of them.
Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards from guests, as well as member charges, as prescribed by the food and beverage manual.
Responsible for ensuring work area(s) are stocked with items that will be needed while on shift.
Assist with special events as requested.
Requirements
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to perform moderate physical work; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds of food trays carrying over their head constantly and performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to five hours without sitting.
EDUCATIONAL, DEVELOPMENT AND WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service preparation and operational procedures as would normally be acquired through a high school education and at least one year of relevant experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of state liquor laws as applied to food and beverage service operational practices and procedures as would be acquired through and at least one year of relevant experience preferred in progressively responsible position.
REQUIRED WORK HABITS:

Responsibilities• Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders accurately.• Deliver beverages and food promptly, ensuring proper presentation.• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked section throughout your shift.• Assist teammates by running food and supporting other sections when needed.• Accurately process payments and provide change with efficiency and courtesy.• Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally to maintain a positive experience.
Qualifications• Previous restaurant serving experience required.• Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently describe menu items, ingredients, and beer selections.• General knowledge of craft beer, wine, and cocktails preferred.• Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.• Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.• Exceptional multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.• Must hold or obtain an Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission (ATC) Employee Permit within 120 days of hire,
as required by state law.

Corndance Tavern is a farm-to-fork steak house and seafood restaurant.
Carnegie Library Special Events is our private event space seating up to 175 guests and is located on the upper level of Jesús Latin Grill & Tequila Bar.
Our in-house butcher shop provides locally sourced meats while our commissary kitchen produces house-made products for each of our restaurant locations.

As the Dining Server, you will apply your dynamic abilities by:
Assisting in preparing and portioning food items
Serving all residents their meals
Properly greeting residents, taking orders, providing table service
Bussing dishes from dining tables and room trays and washing dishes
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to remain stationary 50-100%
Ability to exert 10-30 lbs. of force or to move object
Food service background (Preferred)
