Job Description
The Field Network Technician is responsible for testing, validating, and maintaining the physical network infrastructure; including construction testing and activation, repairing OSP systems deployed throughout the network, and replacement of assets as required. This role covers construction activation oversight, demand maintenance (outage response) and preventative maintenance (routine upkeep). Field Network Technicians will work closely with Construction, Network Engineering and Operations teams, serving as the field counterpart to these teams. In addition to conducting user acceptance testing and overseeing the activation of new fiber installations after contractor work is completed, the Outside Plant Technician may be required to initiate splicing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Install and configure a range of network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and Passive Optical Network (PON) access equipment.
Perform network maintenance, system upgrades, and augmentations to enhance existing network installations.
Follow Method of Procedure (MOP) documents to ensure consistent and accurate execution of tasks.
Adhere to configuration and change management policies to ensure proper approval and awareness when making changes to network infrastructure.
Collaborate with Network Engineering and Operations teams to effectively address network outages, providing clear timelines and progress updates.
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours field support during network maintenance and service interruptions.
Maintain and update network documentation.
Assist in the deployment and maintenance of additional network cabinet/node sites.
Perform regular audits and inspections of newly completed network construction.
Contribute to the development and improvement of policies regarding safety, processes, procedures, best practices, codes, and regulations for i3 Broadband Splicing and Field staff.
Replace and repair vaults and conduits as needed.
Pull fiber to restore network service during outages.

Work closely with high voltage DC power systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Your Role as a Commercial HVAC Technician
As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality service to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Performing scheduled maintenance, service requests, repairs, and equipment changeouts on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Servicing and installing heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and ice machines.
Conducting routine preventative maintenance and recommending repairs to minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting and assessing commercial HVAC systems to determine necessary repairs.
Responding to emergency service requests promptly and professionally.
Providing observations on facility conditions and recommending enhancements or repairs.
Collaborating with dispatchers, coordinators, supervisors, and technical resources to ensure seamless operations.
Adhering to safety policies, procedures, and company standards.
Completing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining excellent customer service.

Qualifications
Required:
EPA Certification
3-6 years of demonstrated experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs.
Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver in confined spaces (e.g., crawlspaces, attics)
Willingness to wear required PPE
Additional Requirements:
Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed for training, meetings, or client-site visits
Ability to meet enhanced security clearance requirements
Subject to drug, background, and driver's license checks
Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
Ability to perform routine maintenance and recommend preventative repairs
Familiarity with light commercial equipment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Experience with industry software is a plus but not required
