Job Summary Hill York seeks an HVAC Controls Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain building automation and control systems across various commercial and retrofit environments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install, commission, and re-commission building automation systems utilizing pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technologies, working closely with team members to ensure seamless integration and execution. Conduct pre-task planning and job hazard assessments before starting work, engaging team members in safety discussions and planning. Wear the required PPE and follow all company and OSHA safety protocols at all times, promoting a culture of safety and accountability. Initiate and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, clearly communicate system issues and solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver consistent service. Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC controls installation, programming, troubleshooting, and service. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control logic, and electronics, with the ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. Familiarity with BAS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks is a plus. Skilled in using diagnostic tools including multimeters and laptops for testing sensors, circuits, and relays. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional customer service approach. Must be a self-motivated problem solver who can work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to perform physical activities including standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, climbing stairs and ladders, balancing, and regularly lifting 50 lbs. or more.
