The Patient Reimbursement Associate verifies insurance benefits for new patient referrals and re-verifies existing patient benefits as indicated by policy. Obtains pre-certifications, pre-determinations, and authorizations for services per insurance guidelines. Evaluates profitability of therapies and communicates issues. Compensation: Target budget for this role is at $23/hour with 5% bonus eligibility. Location: This is a hybrid role and the candidate must live within 2 hours of The Woodlands, TX location. Key Responsibilities * Manage work queue to department standards for productivity and quality. * Verifies insurance benefits for new patient referrals. * Re-verifies insurance benefits for existing patients. * Accurately evaluates charge and reimbursement estimates for infusion therapies. * Reviews all medical documentation against medical policy and initiates/obtains pre-determination, pre-certification, and authorizations as needed. * Follow-up on pending pre-certifications and/or pre-determinations until outcome decided. * Updates and maintains insurance and authorization information in billing software. * Obtains PCP referrals as needed. * Completes special projects as assigned. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirement Typically requires 1+ years of related experience. Education High School diploma or equivalent Critical Skills * One or more years of related experience in a healthcare industry, preferably intake/patient access experience. * Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * Must demonstrate an understanding of reimbursement practices including government program regulation and managed care contracting * Experience working in, and managing changing priorities, in a high volume, fast-paced work environment. * Excellent personal computing skills and a working knowledge of MS Office software * Maintains clear communication with customers regarding mutual expectations. Participants are expected to spend 1-3 hours per month on Physician Pathways Program activities that will help them learn how to operate and thrive as a full-time physician within Kelsey-Seybold. **Position Highlights:** + This is a temporary role intended for physician residents/fellows, interested in pursuing a full-time role with our group following completion of residency or fellowship. + Kelsey-Seybold will educate and prepare the Physician for next generation population health models in a top-notch patient and provider setting. + The customized program will be completed at Kelsey-Seybold facilities and/or virtually with deep exposure to primary care or specialty care within a team-based practice environment that will require a commitment of few hours per month. Failure to do so will render the individual unable to meet the minimum job requirements for an ultrasound tech and result in * termination of employment in that capacity * BLS certification through American Heart Association * Ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisition * Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: For Ultrasound Technologist II: * Healthcare related degree * RT(R), RDMS, (Ab) (OB) (BR) * 1+ years of ultrasound experience (May be met through completion of a formal ultrasound training program offering 1+ years of clinical instruction) * RDMS with a minimum of two specialty registries applicable to our practice OR RT(R) (S) and minimum of two specialty registries applicable to our practice * Ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisition * Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * PACS and RIS experience For Ultrasound Technologist III: * Healthcare related degree * RT (R), RDMS, (Ab)(OB)(BR) RVT and/or RVS * 3+ years of ultrasound experience PACS and RIS experience * 2+ years of ultrasound experience. (May be met through completion of a formal ultrasound training program offering minimum 1+ years of clinical instruction) * RDMS with minimum two specialty ultrasound registries as well as the RVT or RVS OR RT(R) (S) with an RVT or RVS * Ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisition * Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * PACS and RIS experience Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
