Full-time Description
Represent mortgage lenders and investor clients in commercial and residential foreclosure, title disputes and real estate litigation. This position includes but is not limited to making appearances in state and federal court for routine and contested hearings and trials, reviewing incoming litigation and developing case strategy, drafting documents, and conducting settlement negotiations. Experienced Personnel.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage case load of contested matters on behalf of residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.
Appear in court and argue motions and appear at trials necessary to the successful completion of both routine and contested foreclosure, eviction, title curative/ title disputes, HOA/COA issues and other matters.
Communicate with clients regularly for updates and case resolution.
Analyze loan files, title reports and other client documents. Draft motions and prepare written discovery and responses. Prepare for and attend trials.
Legal research and writing are required.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
J.D. degree, licensed in Florida and in good standing with the Florida Bar
Minimum 2 years relevant Litigation experience, 5 years preferred.
Minimum 2 years motion practice experience
Minimum 2 years courtroom experience
Knowledge of Florida Mortgage Foreclosure Law
Knowledge of Florida Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules
Previous experience with foreclosure litigation involving residential and commercial property

What you will do:
* The primary focus of this position is to support the General Counsel and Children's Legal Services Leadership by advising on complex and nuanced Dependency issues and Child Welfare cases and appeals by providing analysis, recommendation, and proposed issue resolution.
* This position is responsible for keeping abreast of current and proposed statutory and case law impacting dependent children, including dependency law and Medicaid eligibility.
* This position will serve as primary point of contact between the Department's Office of Child and Family Well-Being and the Office of the General Counsel on assigned special projects and children's legal services' cases.
* Assists the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel-Children's Legal Services director, and the Children's Legal Services Deputy Director and Statewide Director of Appeals, on issues of special importance to the Department or the Office of the General Counsel.
