Illustrative Duties:
* Interview applicants and determine if eligibility requirements for established legal services are satisfied. Documents all client case information and related time spent in case management system accurately and timely. Ensure compliance with Legal Services Corporation (LSC) or other grantor requirements.
* Communicate with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns, counsel, advice, and refer them to appropriate public agencies or other community resources for additional services needed. Ensure legal options and possible outcomes or risks are brought to their attention.
* Develop and implement strategies to resolve cases favorably. Prepare and review legal documents, such as contracts, dispositions, briefs, oral arguments, and pleadings, accurately and in a timely manner. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for litigation cases assigned by firm and filed with courts as licensed by the state bar of the applicable state, including but not limited to:
o Court appearances for trials, hearings, and appearance for mediation/arbitration proceedings.
o Case management of cases set for court appearance
o Negotiation and communication with opposing attorneys/ defendants.
o Responds to all questions, issues, and status checks throughout the litigation process, escalating as necessary and resolving all issues.
o Communicates with court and court officials, opposing attorneys, and defendants regarding case status
o Drafts pleadings necessary to further court proceedings
o Responds to legal pleadings as necessary.
· Minimum of 2 years experience
* Review, sign and approve all firm legal pleadings in states in which the attorney is licensed
· Reviews of new placements to approve initial outgoing letters for client and legal requirements as assigned
· Keeps abreast of current legal requirements federally and in states in which they practice

Prepare and file Form 709 for United States Gift Taxes for transfers to individual donees, gifting trusts, generation-skipping trusts, etc., and ensure proper tax treatment with respect to cost basis, lifetime gifting exemptions, and split-gifts.
Advise Trustees in ongoing trust administrations.
Analyze trust and estate planning documents and advise clients with respect to trustees' powers and duties, dispositive provisions, beneficiary rights, and tax treatment of distributions.
