Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Crew Supervisor and/or Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor, the Building MaintenanceWorker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the Montclair State University Facilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean campus facilities alone or in teams; clean public areas and meeting spaces.
Perform room set-ups; replace light bulbs, clean light fixtures and restrooms.
Sweep, mop, strip and wax, buff floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Collect and remove trash, bring trash to curb or receptacles, transfer recyclable materials.
Dust all surface and vent, and clean inside window surfaces.
Clean desks, tables, chairs, and remove graffiti.
Clean offices, classrooms, and work areas.
Perform snow removal as directed.
Attend in-service training and participate in University quality and processing improvement initiatives.
Assist with the sorting, distribution, transportation and storage of cleaning supplies.
Keep janitorial closet stocked and clean; maintain housekeeping equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
Ability to lift 25 lbs. and use a ladder.
Ability to work any shift, overtime and holidays in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

Grounds Maintenance
Mowing lawns with riding or push mowers

Proficiency in operating groundskeeping equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other machinery (training also provided)
Valid NYS Drivers' License required
