Job Description:
Berkshire Community College is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and experienced Director of Personal Counseling and Student Support to lead the delivery of high-quality mental health and wellness services for a diverse student body. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director provides individual counseling, supervises program staff, and develops innovative initiatives that promote student well-being, resilience, and academic success.
As the primary point of contact for crisis management and behavioral interventions, the Director coordinates trauma-informed responses and serves as a designated backup to the Dean of Students. This role also collaborates with key campus stakeholders, including the Title IX Coordinator, to support prevention and awareness programming related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
The Director works closely with departments across campus and community partners to design, implement, and evaluate inclusive, evidence-informed wellness strategies that align with broader student success efforts. This position requires strategic leadership, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of student mental health needs within a higher education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and deliver individual and group counseling for students experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, academic stress, and adjustment challenges.
* Conduct clinical assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate referrals to on-campus and community mental health resources.
* Oversee crisis intervention efforts, including risk assessments and coordination of care during mental health emergencies.
* Provide strategic leadership and clinical consultation as a key member of the CARE Team (Behavioral Assessment Team) on student concerns and intervention planning.
* Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator on trauma-informed education, awareness campaigns, and response efforts related to sexual assault, domestic violence, and gender-based violence.
* Advise faculty, staff, and senior leadership on student mental health and support the development of a trauma-informed, equity-centered campus culture.
* Lead and maintain partnerships with local agencies to coordinate support services and referrals; manage formal agreements (MOUs/MOAs) to align with institutional goals.
* Design, implement, and assess wellness programs, campus-wide events, and psychoeducational workshops on stress management, self-care, suicide prevention, and emotional well-being.
* Oversee campus-wide wellness initiatives that promote resilience, healthy habits, and holistic student development.
* Serve as the primary liaison to campus departments, including Academic Affairs and Student Engagement, to integrate wellness into student success strategies.
* Lead mental health awareness campaigns, social media outreach, and events aligned with national observances to reduce stigma and promote help-seeking.
* Provide supervision and mentorship to full-time, part-time, contracted, and intern staff within the personal counseling and student support services unit.
* Consult with Counseling Team members on complex cases and coordinate with legal counsel as needed to mitigate institutional risk.
* Ensure accurate and confidential recordkeeping in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and professional ethical standards.
* Track and analyze trends in student mental health and service utilization; present data to inform planning, resource development, and continuous improvement.
* Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or Clinical Psychology.
* Full licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or licensed doctoral-level psychologist.
* 7-10 years of post-master's clinical experience in psychological counseling, risk assessment, crisis intervention and program development.
* Past supervision of experience of staff member and/or clinicians.
* Demonstrated experience supporting a diverse student population.
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
* Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices
* Demonstrated expertise in managing mental health crises, and crisis intervention protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a college or university counseling center.
* Background in case management and crisis response within a higher education setting.
* Familiarity with electronic health records or case management software.
* Project management experience in wellness or mental health initiatives.

Pittsfield, MA RFK Community Alliance has an opportunity for Survivor Mentor to join our Legacy Mentoring Program team in Pittsfield, MA. Who We Seek We are seeking a Survivor Mentor to expand our Legacy Mentoring Program and provide one-to-one support to adolescent youth who have been commercially sexually exploited. Survivor Mentors work directly with the youth and are responsible for in-person contact with the youth in the home and in the community on a regular basis. Mentors work with multi-disciplinary teams to increase safety and decrease involvement in exploitation. This opportunity requires a person with lived experience as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation as an adolescent or young adult. About The Job The commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) is a form of child abuse that constitutes any sexual activity with a minor for which something of value is given or exchanged. RFK provides voluntary mentoring services to participants that are survivors of CSEC or there are suspicions of CSEC. RFK provides specific training related to boundaries and secondary trauma to support service delivery. Key Areas of Responsibility
Provide one-on-one support and mentoring to adolescent youth who have been commercially sexually exploited. This support will include weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings (depending on where a youth is in recovery) with each meeting lasting 1-3 hours. Contacts may occur wherever the youth lives (including in group care, a juvenile justice facility, foster home, family setting, and/or in the community).
Provide written documentation of each contact with your assigned youth using designated reporting forms and data collection forms.
Work collaboratively with other mentoring team members in developing an appropriate support service, education, and treatment plan for each assigned youth.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including law enforcement, to enhance each youth's safety and ability to aid in a prosecution, when appropriate.
Attend supervision meetings with Legacy Program Coordinator as well as staff meetings
When appropriate, co-facilitate exploitation prevention groups with adolescent youth in schools, group homes, etc.
Attend trainings as required for position and/or to promote professional development. Track hours to provide to supervisor as requested.

South Bronx United (SBU) is seeking energetic individuals with a passion for youth development and soccer to join our team of SBU Coach-Mentors. In the position, the individual will serve as a mentor and Head Soccer Coach for a travel team of boys or girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both players and students.
This is a part time position from September to June requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons. Hours will decrease during the winter off-season (January-February) to 4-6 hours/week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as a Mentor for a team of approximately 20 youth (mentees):
● Serve as first point of staff level contact for the mentees.
● Help plan, set, and keep students on their program schedule.
● Maintain weekly contact with each mentee in person and via phone.
● Maintain regular contact with mentees' parent/guardian.
● Help SBU Education Director monitor student academic performance and assist
in the collection of student report cards, transcripts, and school documents.
● Work with SBU Youth Counselor and Education Director to identify social,
emotional, and academic issues or concerns.
● Check email daily and maintain good communication with SBU office staff
● Hold a weekly call with SBU office staff to discuss progress of each
student-athlete on the team.
● Schedule one monthly in person meeting with program directors.
● Complete progress reports for each mentee two times per year.

2. Serve as Head Coach a travel youth soccer team
● Plan and lead training sessions at least two times per week during the season and at least one time per week during the winter.
● Coach and manage team at games.
● Coordinate team travel and traveling with students to games and events.
● Track attendance data from soccer and academic sessions.
● Attend coach training sessions and coach meetings
● Communicate effectively with youth regarding soccer and academic events.
● Enforce attendance and program policies on the soccer field.
● Work collaboratively with an assistant coach where applicable.

SCHEDULE
Coach-Mentors must be able to commit to coaching for at least one program year, September - June. Approximately 8-12 hours per week during the fall/spring season, and fewer hours through the winter. The precise schedule will be known ahead of each season. Activities include:

Job Description Summary:
The Peer-to-Peer Mentor is an essential member of the Fatherhood Program team. This role supports fathers by providing lived-experience mentorship, assisting with group facilitation, helping participants navigate program requirements, and building community across all four program tiers. The Mentor strengthens father engagement, supports retention efforts, and contributes to the programs father-friendly environment.
This role is designed for someone with personal experience as a father or caregiver who can connect authentically with participants, model positive fathering behaviors, and support fathers as they work toward reunification, improved relationships, and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Provide peer-to-peer support to fathers across all program tiers.
* Co-facilitate weekly Peer Support Groups (held twice per week).
* Assist with parenting sessions (ProFathering15, Fathering in Action, SFI) as needed.
* Share lived experiences to motivate and encourage participant engagement.
* Support outreach and recruitment efforts within the community.
* Help retain fathers by conducting follow-ups and encouraging participation.
* Assist fathers in planning and co-leading required community projects.
* Participate in family events and help fathers engage meaningfully.
* Track attendance for groups, workshops, and program activities.
* Support staff in maintaining incentive logs and participation records.
* Communicate participant updates to Family Development Coaches and Program Director.
* Attend DYCD-required training and participate in staff meetings.
* Promote a father-friendly, trauma-informed, culturally competent program environment.
* Conducts phone and field outreach and recruitment to locate and enroll fathers into the program.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or the equivalent.
* Minimum of one year of experience in fatherhood programming or a human services setting.
* Proficient in oral, written, and interpersonal communication, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks autonomously, demonstrating strong initiative and self-motivation.
* Demonstrated experience serving as an effective group leader, successfully guiding teams to achieve project objectives.
* Possesses excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, build strong working relationships, and drive positive team dynamics.

A Young Adult Peer Mentor (YAPM) has personal experience living with and recovering from mental health challenges, substance misuse and/or traumatic life concerns which caused challenges in one or more areas of life. The YAPM is trained to share their lived experience with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in Young Adults (YAs) who are struggling with similar concerns. YAPMs provide strength-based, peer-to-peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to YAs. YAPMs develop healthy relationships with the YAs to include listening from a peer perspective, encouraging the YA's unique gifts/strengths, and fostering their communication with family, friends, natural supports, providers, and others.
Qualifications:
1. A young adult who has personal experience living with and recovering from mental health needs,

2. At least 1 year experience working with youth and young adults
