What You'll Do
This 12-week Operations internship will be based in a GM Automotive Parts warehouse and drives the operational efforts of GM's Customer Care and Aftersales organization. The position supervises a team of union-represented operations employees, or a departmental function in a warehouse processing center or distribution center. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the department workforce to ensure accurate and timely parts shipments to customers.

We are seeking Electrical Engineer Co-ops to do hands-on work that would potentially add directly to the bottom line of our culture and our company. You will have many responsibilities and accountabilities like control systems engineering and electrical support for programs. This is a hands-on position in which you may work with periodic repairs and to provide technical support and direction to support personnel/skilled trades.

The AI Cloud and Developer Infrastructure organization is responsible for delivering and maintaining the tools and services engineers here at GM use every day to do their best work and drive our cars forward. Our plants are the groundwork for GM and a hotbed of innovation. We need controls engineer interns to assist maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specialist equipment.
As a Controls Engineer Intern, you would be accountable for controls engineering and electrical support for industrial manufacturing equipment. These tasks would teach you electrical root causing analysis and problem solving as well as leadership skills to provide technical support and direction to support personnel/skilled trades within the organization. Quality and safety are extremely meaningful to us, so enforcing safe work practices is the highest priority and implementing objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping, which means that you would have to investigate system and equipment problems and provide technical input in problem resolution.

The Production Mapping Software Team plays a pivotal role in the software development of mapping solutions to support AV/ADAS at General Motors. This team is responsible for delivering integrated and tested software for various GM features, including Super Cruise and Adaptive Cruise Control.

General information: The role of the Industrial Engineer intern is to apply advanced problem-solving techniques and lean principles to develop and optimize the manufacturing system to maximize throughput, increase efficiency and value. The Industrial Engineer intern will be involved in Factory Layout Planning, Material Flow, Simulation and Process Modeling, Pareto Analysis, Process Mapping, Facility Management Processes, and Data Power BI KPI reporting. The role of the Industrial Engineer intern is to apply advanced problem-solving techniques and lean principles to develop and optimize the manufacturing system to maximize throughput, increase efficiency and value.
