You will be utilizing VMware products (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation) to implement a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) across multiple global sites. Our client provides value-added common and managed services that host applications. The role involves collaborating with engineers to design and maintain the clients architecture while developing, deploying, and sustaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network architecture and customer enclave provisioning. Responsibilities include daily network administration, such as patching and upgrading components, monitoring resource health, and escalating critical issues to the client lead. The position requires hardening the network in line with commercial best practices and government cybersecurity controls, performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hosting platform issues, and providing on-call support for after-hours incidents. Additionally, the role includes creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation-such as system diagrams, network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures-and recommending improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across clients network enclaves. ALTESS is a Product Director office under Program Executive Office Enterprise (PEO Enterprise). Position Duties Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the AECC architecture. Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the VMware suite of products in the AECC. As applications are hosted on the AECC solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the customer enclaves. Provide daily administration of the VMware products to include patching and upgrading of all VMware components. Monitor utilization of all virtualization resources and notify the AECC lead when additional resources will be required. Harden the VMware products per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any hosting platform issues. Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures). Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents. Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies.
