Tygart is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to support a DOJ office in Clarksburg, WV. The ideal candidate must possess a current a Top-Secret clearance. The Senior Information Systems Security Engineer will be responsible for briefing diverse audiences on technical matters and conveying information clearly and concisely. This role requires experience preparing written reports and oral presentations for designed projects, tailored for presentation to a variety of individuals within and outside the organization.
Job Description:
* Demonstrated ability to brief diverse audiences on technical matters and convey information clearly and concisely
* Experience preparing written reports and oral presentations for designed projects for presentation to a variety of individuals within and outside the organization
* Expert-level understanding of Cloud Security Providers (CSP) and secure engineering and design of cloud-based solutions via automation
* Experience and working knowledge of security for cloud technologies and services, specifically AWS and Microsoft Azure
* Expert-level experience and knowledge of government security standards and industry best practices, including the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST security and privacy controls
* Experience conducting industry research to create detailed reports, whitepapers, and technical comparisons
* Working knowledge of agile development methodology, specifically including:
* Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
* Lean systems development
* Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodology
* Significant hands-on experience implementing, operating, and maintaining infrastructure and applications
* Experience working within diverse teams of architects, developers, and integrators
* Experience leading or co-leading technology projects with enterprise dependencies
* Experience developing, maintaining, and revising policies and guidelines relating to information security
* A minimum of 10 years of experience (required)
* Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance (required).

Summary
Under general supervision, the Customer and Network Facing Technician is a universal technician that is responsible for performing field installation and service work, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of cable television, internet, and telephony systems. This role supports the growth of the system by ensuring the quality performance of technical services, installation setup, testing, and maintenance of all current and future products and services over Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks. The incumbent ensures the quality of services provided to end-users meets or exceeds established industry and company performance standards and complies with FCC requirements and protocol.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Install, maintain, disconnect, and troubleshoot television, high-speed internet, telephony, and automation systems for residential and business clients.
* Performs preventative maintenance and repair of the HFC and FTTH networks, including all associated equipment, in accordance with company engineering standards.
* Read and accurately interpret system/network design maps.
* Install and replace HFC physical plant network components such as coax, actives, passives, grounding systems, pedestals, riser guards, conduit, etc., according to technical specifications.
* Identify and repair upstream and downstream ingress.
* Complete end-of-line network testing to meet technical specifications.
* Regularly test all HFC network components using test equipment including: signal level meters, volt-ohm meters, leakage detector, Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR), and Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR).
* Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and update records of standby power supplies according to technical specifications.
* Troubleshoot and repair basic distribution problems associated with RF, AC, and DC elements of the forward and reverse plant.
* Restore system service outages.
* Perform CLI rideouts and monitor and repair signal leakages.
* Maintain tools and equipment inventory.
* Accurately complete work orders in a timely manner.
* Maintain, secure, and stock assigned vehicle and equipment.
* Ensure productivity is being tracked through company applications (e.g., NRBY, WFX, Stratusync, iGlass).
* Work alongside Headend personnel to properly OTDR any damaged fiber.
* Properly assist on projects such as Remote Phy, 5-85 Mhz, Node activation, E2E testing on new properties, etc.
* Prepare for daily work assignments by requisitioning equipment and supplies from the warehouse and stocking the vehicle as needed.
* Maintain company truck and other equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
* Drive a company vehicle between office/home, warehouse, and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.
* Communicate with dispatch (via WFX, phone, etc.) for assistance, status on current installs, or new service requests.
* Consult with supervisor and other technicians for advice and assistance as needed.

Identify and assess emerging security risks, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities associated with infrastructure, applications, and operations.
Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure identified risks are mitigated and documented effectively.
Ensure compliance with federal and industry security standards including NIST SP 800-53, OWASP Top 10, Common Criteria, DISA STIGs, and SANS Institute recommendations.
Support and contribute to Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages, including preparation of SSPs, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring (ConMon) artifacts.
Advise on policy alignment and security architecture improvements to support secure Agile delivery.
Apply technical knowledge of networking, system administration, and development to assess the security posture of enterprise environments.
Utilize Splunk to perform audit log analysis, generate system alerts, and support threat hunting and incident response activities.
Recommend and implement automated logging, monitoring, and security reporting processes.
Engage proactively with Agile development teams, product owners, and ISSOs to embed security into project planning and delivery.
Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Contribute to security knowledge-sharing, training sessions, and cross-functional security strategy initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Minimum 7 years of experience in information security, IT risk management, or cybersecurity compliance, preferably in a federal or state agency environment.
Demonstrated experience applying and interpreting NIST 800-53, OWASP, and DISA STIGs in real-world projects.
Strong hands-on technical background in networking, system administration, or software development.
Proficiency with SIEM tools-especially Splunk-for event correlation, alerting, and compliance reporting.
Familiarity with Agile development environments and DevSecOps principles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create reports and briefings for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Active Top Secret clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting federal ATO processes, RMF frameworks, or FISMA compliance efforts.
Familiarity with continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning tools, and risk scoring models.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
