PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As a NetworkEngineer II, you will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of a Fortinet-based network spanning on-premises data centers, branch locations, and Azure cloud environments. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As a NetworkEngineer II, you will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of a Fortinet-based network spanning on-premises data centers, branch locations, and Azure cloud environments. You'll manage routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPN connectivity, while helping transition legacy platforms to Fortinet.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you'll ensure secure, high-performance connectivity and collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support cross-platform initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role supports the organization's transition to Fortinet by maintaining network connectivity across branch sites, data centers, and Azure cloud. You'll configure and upgrade Fortinet devices, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and manage VPN and hybrid cloud networking.
You'll work with vendors, cloud, and internal teams to support network projects, license renewals, and ensure secure, reliable infrastructure as part of the IT Operations team.

Engage in research and development related to next-generation firewall features, evolving Fortinet capabilities, and enterprise network trends.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work 40 hours per week or more if required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification is highly preferred.
CCNA or CCNP certification is also acceptable, though Fortinet-specific experience and certifications will be prioritized.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a networkengineering role, with a strong focus on Fortinet firewalls and security appliances (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
Proven experience with Fortinet SD-WAN, VPN, high availability (HA) configurations, firewall policies, and UTM features.
Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, NAT, and network segmentation in Fortinet environments.
Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing Fortinet infrastructure in a multi-site enterprise setting.
5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless, SIP/VoIP, and SD-WAN.
Proven expertise in Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, SD-WAN, VPN), with experience supporting Palo Alto, Cisco Catalyst, Cradlepoint, and Ubiquiti/Unifi environments.
Strong background in converged networks, including VoIP deployments and QoS design/implementation.
