Payroll Processing & Accuracy Process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for assigned employee populations using SAP SuccessFactors payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of earnings, deductions, and taxes.

System Configuration & Payroll Integrity Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot payroll schemas, rules, wage types, payroll infotypes, personnel areas, and cost centers to ensure ongoing system accuracy and stability.
Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis Investigate payroll discrepancies, tax variances, and system errors; perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, Benefits, and external IT or payroll vendors to support payroll interfaces and implement payroll-related system updates or changes.

Reporting & Data Interfaces Ensure data accuracy across payroll interfaces (SAP to ADP, Finance, and Benefits) and produce SAP payroll and tax-related reports for management and internal and external audits.
PTO & Employee Support Audit and monitor PTO plans related to employee setup, changes, and terminations, and research and respond to employee payroll and tax-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education & Qualification:
High School Degree or GED.
Minimum four years SAP related experience.
Desirable: FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification
Experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, technical procedures, payroll tax regulations, and governmental guidance at the federal, state, and local levels. ·
Ability to analyze moderately complex administrative and payroll data, including organizing, preparing, and coding payroll information, supporting payroll tax reconciliations, and preparing summary reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrated accuracy in data entry and reconciliation activities, including validation of earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to support payroll calculations, adjustments, and tax-related reconciliations.
PC literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables), internet and web-based tools, and SAP payroll modules; experience reviewing payroll and tax data within SAP or downstream vendor systems preferred.
Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse stakeholders, including the ability to respond to employee inquiries and partner with HR, Finance, and vendors on payroll and tax-related questions. · Ability to develop, document, and follow payroll processes and procedures, including those related to tax validation, audits, and compliance controls. ·

5+ years of Certified Payroll experience; experience with, LCPTracker, and EMARS preferred.
Advanced understanding of Davis-Bacon, SCA, prevailing wage determinations, and fringe calculations.
Experience with payroll systems such as Paycom, ADP, Workday
Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to meet urgent deadlines with high-volume weekly submissions.
Strong Excel and reporting skills.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining employee records for new hires, pay changes, terminations and assisting and reviewing the daily operations of payroll processing and checking for accuracy. This position will also be responsible for reviewing the TRS TEAMS reporting and submissions for the state while ensuring organizational compliance with federal and local regulations, auditing, and non-discrimination laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Associate degree/60+ hours from an accredited college or university
1 year payroll or job related experience
Preferred:
5 yrs payroll experience and TRS Reporting experience in public education
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Highly accurate calculations and detailed data entry
Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of computer applications
Use English in both written and verbal forms

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist with the daily operations of payroll processing

Review and assist TEAMS reporting and verify payment
Be familiar with all rules, regulations and changes applicable to TEAMS reporting
Ensure accuracy with TRS data and TRS 6 and TRS 8 forms
Monitor, retrieve and process bank reversals from direct deposits, closed accounts, etc.
Assist with planning and implementing payroll continuous improvement processes
Ensure written procedures are in place, followed and updated for desk duties as necessary
Ensure the recovery of funds due to payroll processing errors
Ensure 12-hours professional development are met annually
Coordinate and provide cross-training on new hire processing
Assist manager with payroll processes and reviewing new hire, changes, return to works, and payoffs for accuracy
Ensure timely payroll processing
Assist employees with payroll related inquiries
Be familiar with all Board policies related to payroll including DEC (local) and DED (local) as which relate to new employment processing and the application of salary
Submit ACH tape for direct deposit
Setup new bank identifiers in eFinance
Assist with uploading extra duty pay forms
Be familiar with TimeClock Plus processes and time calculations
Assist with processing payroll deductions and initiate payment.
Maintain varied payroll information for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
Maintain payroll records in accordance with records management retention schedule
Monitor employee status for the purpose of ensuring accurate distribution of funds and payroll.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
