Essential Duties and Responsibilities Respond to hospital and provide medical care in accordance with standing protocols as well as patient specific written orders while en route to a higher level of care. Follow guidelines that you learned in training and that you received from on-the-job instruction. Do an on-the-spot assessment of the patient's condition and follow proper protocols and written orders appropriately. Use wheeled stretcher and transfer devices to safety move patient to and from ambulance Create a patient care report, documenting the medical care given to the patient while under your direct care Properly handle, dispose and document medication administration Replace used supplies and check or clean equipment after use Perform equipment QC to ensure proper operation Operate within HCMH approved policy and procedures and the Iowa Scope of Practice Physical & Mental Requirements: Risk of exposure to contagious diseases and bodily fluids and psychologically unstable people.
