Your Role: Primary Care Physician Assistant
As a Physician Assistant with a primary care focus, you?ll provide exceptional care across all life spans and families in a thriving primary care setting. Essential Functions of the Role:
Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem focused physical examinations and medical histories.
Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
Prescribes, recommends and/or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
Evaluates patient?s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.
Counsels patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health illness/condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the counter medications and herbal remedies.
Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient?s treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.
Provide consultation level services for conditions /problems related to the Provider?s specialty and training.
Perform invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated by supervising Physician.
May provide care to a panel of patients in a team based model focusing on acute and chronic illness management, as well as population health.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Principal Faculty member as a Full-time Faculty Instructor in the Physician Assistant Program is primarily responsible for course instruction and/or course coordination in the didactic and/or clinical phase of the program. It is expected that a Principal Faculty/Faculty Instructor will be effective in the areas of course design, course delivery, and evaluation. The Principal Faculty/Faculty Instructor (Full-time) is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) with the Physician Assistant Program.

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
1. Provides teaching and instruction in the PA program including:
Coordination of instruction for a minimum of 6 courses annually.
Lecturing in areas of clinical and/or professional expertise.
Providing academic advising as a Small Group Facilitator and Student Advisor.
2. Assists the Director of Didactic Education in the administrative coordination of the didactic phase of the program.
3. Assists the Director of Clinical Education in the administrative coordination of the clinical phase of the program.
4. Assists with curriculum development, which includes the design and implementation of the curriculum.
5. Assists with ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement.
6. Performs student evaluations of objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), lab practicals, as well as clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and technical skills sessions during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
7. Evaluates student performance of submitted assignments, including written clinical documentation, evidence-based medicine research, and health literacy projects.
8. Creates examinations for courses and maps exam questions to ARC-PA accreditation standards and the NCCPA Content Blueprint.
9. Provides input to assist with accreditation activities, as well as ongoing program evaluation and mission statement review.
10. Participates in the program's admissions process to include student recruitment, student evaluation (through application review and candidate interviews), and student selection meetings.
11. Engages in service, community and campus relations, and scholarly activities appropriate to the role of a Principal Faculty (Full-time) member.
12. Participates in faculty development opportunities each year as required in the areas of teaching and academic administration.
13. Assists with clinical site development and clinical site monitoring.
14. Provides remedial instruction as needed.

TeamHealth has a new day shift hospitalist opening at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is an established program between TeamHealth and HCA staffed with internal medicine (IM) hospitalists and nocturnists that are all local to Austin. Our physicians work a traditional 7-on, 7-off schedule.
St. David's Georgetown has 114 beds but only 50 beds are handled by the hospitalist program. We are currently staffing this with 3-day time providers (7a-7p) with 1 nocturnist physician (7p-7a). About the Role:
As a Post-Acute Care Physician, you will provide care for a panel of patients in skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. In this role, you'll partner with facility staff and Trumen affiliated clinicians to play a key role in reducing hospital readmissions, managing chronic and acute conditions, and guiding patients through transitional care with compassion and continuity.

Qualifications:
MD or DO with a current, unrestricted Texas medical license
