Program Overview: The DVSC surgical externship program is open to fourth-year clinical students and available in flexible blocks based on your educational institution's requirements. You'll work closely with veterinary interns and associates on cases from intake to discharge, participate in rounds, and scrub in to assist our board-certified surgeons with neurologic, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeries. The typical student schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also choose to participate in emergency on-call cases. Why choose DVSC?
