We are currently seeking a Project Manager - Wastewater Treatment Lead to support our growing construction management team in West Lafayette, IN. This role may be filled by an experienced Project Manager or a highly skilled Project Superintendent with deep wastewater expertise. The position requires a strong background in wastewater treatment facility installation, QA/QC, commissioning, and operations. Experience with Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Process Cooling Water (PCW) systems is also highly beneficial. This role supports a large-scale industrial construction program and plays a critical part in delivering high-purity utility infrastructure and process systems on schedule and to the highest quality standards. The Wastewater Treatment Lead is a discipline-specific leader embedded within the project execution team. This individual is responsible for overseeing all technical and construction aspects of the wastewater and waters scope, coordinating closely with design teams, contractors, QA/QC personnel, and owner representatives. The Wastewater Treatment Lead works hand-in-hand with other discipline leads and project managers to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality installation of critical process systems. Local candidates highly preferred. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the discipline lead for Wastewater, UPW, and PCW systems, providing technical oversight during installation, commissioning, and startup. Validate scope, installation methods, and system conformance to approved designs and specifications in partnership with construction contractors and internal teams. Lead coordination for design reviews, field clarifications, submittal approvals, and RFI resolution related to wastewater and process water infrastructure. Perform regular site walkdowns, field verification of installation practices, and review of contractor redlines and deviations. Support and uphold quality assurance processes by working closely with QA/QC personnel to implement project inspection plans. Interface with design professionals, client technical teams, and construction coordinators to resolve field-level issues quickly and effectively. Participate in punch listing, system turnover, commissioning, and startup activities to ensure a complete and compliant handover. Maintain discipline-specific documentation within Autodesk Construction Cloud or the project management platform, including issue logs, test records, and progress tracking. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, sharing field experience and best practices. QUALIFICATIONS 5-10+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or operations roles focused on wastewater treatment systems, high-purity or process water systems (UPW/PCW), or similar industrial utility systems. Strong field presence with the ability to navigate active construction sites and engage effectively with craft labor and trade partners. Proven success in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments. Semiconductor or high-tech facility experience preferred. Proficiency interpreting construction drawings, P&IDs, system schematics, redlines, and technical submittals. Ability to interpret specifications and enforce compliance with design and installation standards. Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms is a plus. Experience supporting or managing commissioning, startup, and turnover processes strongly preferred. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent field experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. This role will oversee all dry mechanical installations, including cleanroom HVAC, subfab mechanical systems, process support spaces, chilled water and hydronic systems, exhaust systems, makeup air units, rooftop systems, and associated utility infrastructure. The Dry Mechanical Project Manager serves as the discipline lead within the construction execution team. This position requires extensive experience in semiconductor facility mechanical systems, strong field leadership, and the ability to coordinate across EPCM partners, design engineers, trade contractors, commissioning teams, and the client's technical representatives. This role will support design development, installation oversight, mechanical completion, system walkdowns, and turnover activities. The position also works closely with the EPCM Work Package Owner (WPO) to ensure that dry mechanical scope is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements. Local candidates highly preferred. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide subject-matter expertise and early design-phase guidance on semiconductor cleanroom HVAC, MAUs, process exhaust, hydronic piping, and dry mechanical system concepts. Lead the installation of all dry mechanical systems including AHUs, RTUs, ductwork, exhaust systems (general, HEPA, chemical, solvent), chilled water, hot water, and supporting mechanical infrastructure. Oversee design coordination related to cleanroom airflow, subfab mechanical routing, tool hook-ups, and equipment placement. Support the project's energy efficiency and sustainability requirements, including system optimization and best-practice mechanical routing. Assist with site-wide clash detection, space coordination, and constructability reviews using 3D model platforms such as Navisworks or BIM-based modeling tools. Review and recommend approval for mechanical specifications, installation standards, hanger/support systems, pipe rack and duct bank designs, and construction details. Assist with determining optimal duct and pipe routing philosophies, system boundary definitions, and alignment with commissioning requirements. Participate in model reviews with EPC, AE, and construction teams to ensure mechanical design is compliant with semiconductor cleanroom and manufacturing standards. Support tendering and procurement activities for mechanical packages, including scope review, bid evaluations, and contractor engagement. Assist in reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, and design clarifications with the EPCM engineering team. Monitor construction progress, track performance, and resolve field-level mechanical issues. Conduct detailed system walkdowns to validate installation quality, verify readiness for mechanical completion, and support turnover documentation. Provide oversight and coordination of TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) activities, including cleanroom airflow performance and system readiness. Interface with contractors, engineers, and project teams to drive schedule adherence and resolve technical issues. Ensure accurate documentation of mechanical installation, inspections, deviations, and punch items. Support commissioning teams through system startup, functional testing, and handover of mechanical systems. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all dry mechanical activities. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction for semiconductor fabs, high-tech manufacturing facilities, or large-scale industrial projects. Deep knowledge of semiconductor HVAC systems, cleanroom mechanical requirements, subfab mechanical systems, and process support utilities.
