Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to manage projects and oversee environmental permitting and due diligence within our Midwest Region. This position will require a thorough knowledge of the federal, state, and local permitting requirements associated with the development and construction of new projects throughout the U.S. in market sectors such as oil and gas, electric, and renewables. Project management responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Execution of and project management for multiple environmental projects which include multi-faceted components. The ideal candidate will use a background in the ecological sciences (wetland delineations, habitat studies, etc) and a thorough understanding of Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting, Rivers and Harbors Act Section 10 permitting, leading consultation under the Endangered Species Act and the National Historic Preservation Act. Participate in business development activities including the development of proposals and cost estimates for new projects, development of and participation in client-facing presentations, and manage existing relationships with existing clients while contributing to the expansion of our growing Texas business. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced staff members. Additional responsibilities include: + Lead project teams on a variety of tasks, including completion of field surveys, environmental permitting with federal, state and local agencies, review of necessary project reports and materials. + Interface daily with various agencies to obtain approvals, submit permit applications and prepare responses in a timely manner. + Daily interfacing with clients to develop relationships, build business, and expand services to new clients. + Manage work within budget and schedule expectations for each project. + Apply technical and creative solutions to environmental permitting and due diligence. + Advise clients of appropriate strategies to obtain permits and maintain compliance with regulations and permit conditions. + Provide guidance on regulations and permitting through USACE, USEPA, and various state and local regulations pertaining to the environmental permitting of new projects. + Publish technical papers and deliver presentations at conferences. + Travel may be required as necessary and required by project or client commitments. + All other duties as assigned. The City Forester position is a supervisory skilled work position in the Park & Recreation Department. Temporary Description The Nature & Discovery Specialist is responsible for creating safe, age-appropriate, adaptive programming that is focused on STEM based outdoor education for campers aged 8-17 years old. This staff member will create dynamic and detailed lesson plans, and will be responsible for supervising volunteers each session. They will also lead the Outpost program, an adventure based overnight camping experience for teens. Team Overview: The Program Team brings the camp experience to life by creating programs, building community and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all camp participants. The team creates accessible and developmentally appropriate programs and recruits, processes, and supports a large team of volunteers and seasonal staff. BlueHalo, an AV company, has an opportunity available for a full-time research scientist to work with the Polymer and Responsive Materials Research Team at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), OH. The successful candidate will join a team of diverse and multi-disciplinary scientists with a broad range of skills including synthetic chemistry, nanomaterial development, mechanical engineering, and polymer modeling. The candidate will be responsible for the design and synthesis of 2D conjugated polymers, such as Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs), for optoelectronic applications. Successful candidates must possess strong synthesis skills, specifically related to the preparation of low-dimensional organic materials and conjugated polymers, as well as expertise in film fabrication. Furthermore, knowledge of and experience with a wide array of electrochemistry and optoelectronic characterization techniques are highly desired. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the thought leadership of the project and will have the opportunity to expand their skillset in a wide array of materials chemistry and engineering while refining their written and oral communication skills.
