    Purchasing manager job in Austin, TX

    The RoleWe're looking for a Director of Product Development & Sourcing to lead the end-to-end creation process across all categories - apparel, accessories, packs, and bags. This is a senior- level role with strategic ownership of the P&L, costing, and vendor partnerships, yet itremains highly hands-on and executional. You'll be rolling up your sleeves alongside a small, scrappy team while building the foundation for scalable growth - process, people, and product. What You'll DoLead the full product lifecycle from concept to bulk delivery, ensuring product quality, margin, and on-time execution across categories. Own sourcing strategy and P&L accountability - build, negotiate, and manage global vendor partnerships that align with our brand and financial goals. Establish process and procedure across PD, Sourcing, and Production functions to drive efficiency, consistency, and cross-department alignment. Partner closely with Design to translate creative vision into commercial, cost-effective, and scalable product solutions. Build and mentor a team as the business grows - PD, sourcing, and production talent that reflects our fast-moving, entrepreneurial culture. Manage production oversight, ensuring capacity planning, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met while driving continuous improvement. Serve as a key thought partner to the Founders, influencing strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term operational planning. What You'll Bring 8-10 years of progressive experience in Product Development, Sourcing, and/or Production within apparel or related consumer goods. Proven ability to balance strategy and execution. Deep understanding of development calendars, raw materials, trims, packaging, testing,and vendor compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams, influencecross-functionally, and thrive in a start-up-like environment. A hands-on, roll-with-it attitude - someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to getinto the weeds.
