The Department of Biomedical and Applied Sciences at Indiana University School of Dentistry invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the area of Dental Caries and Erosive Tooth Wear. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and the development of in-vitro models to investigate the remineralization and demineralization efficacy profile of novel industrial prototypes with respect to carious and erosive lesions. The position will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension subject to satisfactory performance review and funding environment. Opportunities will be available to ride along with the PFR Location Lead on customer calls to evaluate product performance. The High Energy Physics Group at Purdue University has an opening for an outstanding, passionate and driven postdoctoral research associate to work on an applied nuclear research project. The main focus of the position is the analysis of data collected with photon spectrometer detectors recording nuclear collisions. The expected candidate has strong experience in ML/AI to facilitate the development of a framework to search for unknown and not yet discovered transitions in such spectra. Foundational experience in data science technologies such as Python, R, Spark, and SQL. Foundational experience in cleansing and processing data to build features for model development. Hands on experience through coursework and/or prior internships working with data science frameworks such as Tensorflow, Sci-kit learn, Numpy, PyTorch, Matplotlib, Shap, and/or similar tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts. Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player. Familiarity developing ETL and data quality pipelines that process vast amounts of data. Prior experience with distributed compute architectures such as Spark, Kubernetes, or Docker containers.
