Qualifications
Education:
Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization.
Experience and Skills:
Acquires thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives during one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment.
Works independently on research projects designed by a mentor (typically the PI) within the area of specialization.
Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, and analysis, operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

Chemistry Research Interns conduct research which advances our foundational knowledge in grape and wine chemistry. Students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art analytical equipment and method development, enhancing the skills and experience necessary for graduate school and/or future careers in R&D. Interns participate in team projects that elucidate chemical metrics to improve our commercial processes, product quality, and predictive sensory capabilities.
Develop and refine methodologies to characterize aroma and mouthfeel properties of grapes and wines.
Establish relevance of chemical metrics by modeling their relationship to sensory and grape and wine quality attributes.
Work cross-functionally with R&D partners to establish chemical specifications for sensory attributes across the Gallo beverage portfolio.
Employ appropriate statistical methods to analyze data and generate experimental insight.

Chemistry Applications Interns assist in research and production support activities involving the chemical analyses of grapes and wine. Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree OR have obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in the following areas: School of Life Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, or School of Engineering (Business or social sciences degrees are not eligible for this internship, such as ag business, psychology, etc).
Available for the entire duration of the internship program area(s) of interest.
Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000. Viticulture Interns
Interns assist with a wide variety of vineyard experiments involving irrigation, canopy management, mechanization, spatial variability, and the application of data analytics for vineyard management.

The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate in the Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR) department. The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC Dornsife functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
The Interplay of Genes and Environment across Multiple Studies (IGEMS) Consortium in coordination with CESR at USC seek to hire a post-doctoral scholar for a 2-year tenure with a start date to be determined by the scholar's needs and current position. This scholar will support a newly awarded NIA grant (R01 AG081248) titled “Country, cohort, and gender disparities in the relationship between education and ADRD” which combines multiple measures of education to explore the education/ADRD relationship, noting that these relationships may vary as a function of diverse social environments-captured in our study as gender, country, and birth-cohort variation. In addition to working with the researchers on the awarded R01, scholars will also have the ability to work with the more than 30 researchers in 6 different countries that constitute the IGEMS research network. Travel to IGEMS research sites (U. Colorado, Penn State, UC San Diego, Karolinska Institute) and collaboration with researchers and post-docs working on related IGEMS projects will be coordinated as appropriate.

The goal of Song lab is to develop brain-like devices that can mimic and restore cognitive functions. This is a hybrid position. The Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate will be expected to work onsite at least 2 days per week. This position is not eligible for fully remote work.
The annual base salary range for this position is $69,850. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Fixed-Term Employment: Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate is a 1-year fixed-term position, scheduled to end 12 months from hire date. Employees hired under a fixed-term agreement acknowledge that the university may change the expected end date at any time by providing a one (1) month written notification. Your employment may also end for other reasons consistent with university policy. According to university policy, no severance benefits are paid to employees hired under a fixed term agreement. When you leave, your final paycheck will include pay for days worked, and for accrued and unused vacation. The university does not pay for accrued and unused sick days upon termination.
Preferred Qualifications
• Qualified candidates should have or be close to completing a doctorate degree in industrial engineering, operations research, statistics, or machine learning and have a strong research record.
• Qualified candidates should have prior research and publications in optimization under uncertainty methodologies and their applications. Preferences will be given to candidates with experience in one of the following areas: (1) stochastic and distributionally robust optimization and their applications, or (2) fairness in optimization and/or ML.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills are required
