Miriam's Kitchen works to end chronic homelessness in Washington, DC. We advocate for permanent supportive housing as a long-term solution, while meeting short-term needs by providing healthy meals and high-quality social services to individuals who are chronically homeless.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Bridge Housing program is a new non-congregate bridge housing program, which opened September 2025. Bridge Housing's primary goal is to help residents exit to permanent housing within 3-6 months. Bridge Housing will serve up to 190 residents at full capacity. Bridge Housing is open 24/7 and residents primarily stay in semi-private, dormitory style rooms. Bridge Housing will serve adults of all genders. Target populations will include individuals who are currently matched to a permanent housing resource and individuals who can't be served well by existing low-barrier shelters. Residents need to be referred through city systems.
The ResidentAssistant serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team that advocates for and support residents of E Street. The ResidentAssistant is an essential staff role ensuring the safety of the building, enforcing program rules, serving as a part of the emergency response team, and communicating with case managers to ensure that clients are receiving the case management services that they need.
We are currently hiring for (5) positions with the following shifts:
(1) Tuesday - Saturday, 7am - 3pm
(1) Tuesday - Saturday, 3pm - 11pm
(2) Tuesday - Saturday, 11pm - 7am
(1) Sunday - Thursday, 3pm - 11pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop a positive rapport with each resident through routine contact and communication.
· Provide roving coverage throughout the facility.
· Provides support and assistance by completing care coordination tasks such as completing referrals for services and residency forms
· Assist in the implementation of case plans and document the client interactions in HMIS
· Immediately report serious incidents, allegations, and sensitive program information to the Operations Manager
· Complete incident reports
· Work with case management team to ensure all required service delivery is documented and to identify strengths and weaknesses in data entry and quality
· Respond to immediate client needs, help de-escalate crisis situations, help resolve conflicts and enforce program rules
· Conduct room inspections per program rules to ensure cleanliness
· Participate in program team meetings, staff meetings, supervision meetings as required and requested per contracts
· Build and maintain quality working relationships with colleagues, external and internal stakeholders
· Participate in program quality improvement activities that improve program policies, procedures and client and program outcomes
· Atten all required trainings per contract requirements
· Adhere to agency policies and procedures
· Other duties as assigned

The opportunity:
The ResidentialAssistant is responsible for providing support to the individuals living in Linwood's residences. The ResidentialAssistantassists in the implementation of each resident's Individual Plan (IP) and Behavior Plan (BP). This support includes facilitating the resident's achievement of personalized goals that are tailored to his/her needs and ability. The ResidentialAssistant will work cooperatively with other assistants in the home, the House Manager, Senior Residential Managers and other staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
Participation in the development of the IP and Behavior Plans for each of the individuals in the house and implementing and documenting the portion of the plan(s) related to the individual in the residential program.
Providing guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the following:
That the house, the appliances, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order.
That the individuals are engaged in meaningful activities that address the outcomes in their IPs.
That the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected.
Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry and other activities of daily living.
Planning and coordinating appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community. This includes transporting the individuals to and from their destinations. These activities also include shopping trips and medical, dental and mental health appointments.
During medical, dental and mental health appointments, the ResidentialAssistant is an agent of Linwood and will exchange appropriate and accurate information with the healthcare professional and interact with the pharmacist to obtain medications. The ResidentialAssistant shall be trained by the nursing staff commissioned by Linwood and will carry out duties as a Certified Medication Technician delegated by the nurses as prescribed by the Board of Nursing and DDA.
Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g. for illness, inclement weather, closings, etc.). The supervisor will make every effort to arrange coverage, however, the final responsibility rests on the residential staff.
Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork, in conjunction with the House Manager. This includes quarterly reports, monthly reports, fire drill records, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, daily log book, etc.
When directed by the House Manager, the ResidentialAssistant will be required to attend and participate in clinical meetings and medication reviews.
Accounting for money that belongs to the individuals per Linwood's policy and procedure regarding the Protection of Finances and Personal Property.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Student Life Program Manager, the Resident Advisor actively manages a designated student house and supervises students during the morning, afternoon, and evening Student Life Program hours. Position Overview
Reporting to the Student Life Program Manager, the Resident Advisor actively manages a designated student house and supervises students during the morning, afternoon, and evening Student Life Program hours.
