JOB SUMMARY:
The primary duty of the Security Team at The Riverside Church is to ensure the safety, care, and well-being of all individuals who enter our sacred space. As stewards of this historic and spiritual institution, our security personnel are expected to demonstrate professionalism, vigilance, and compassion at all times. The role extends beyond enforcement-it embodies service, respect, and the protection of our values and community.
Shifts available:
Day Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 4:00pm to 12:00am
Overnight Shift: 12:00am to 8:00am
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Building Patrols and Documentation:
Conduct thorough building rounds during every shift.
Complete and submit roving patrol logs for supervisory review.
Rounds and documentation will be monitored by either the on-duty Security Supervisor or Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD).
2. Chain of Command:
Your immediate point of contact is the Security Supervisor.
In the absence of a Supervisor, report to the FLSD on duty.
All staff are under the leadership of the Security Director, Richard J. Gregg.
3. Professional Conduct:
Cell phone use is prohibited while on active duty.
Loitering, socializing, or eating at the front desk is not permitted.
Security officers must remain alert, respectful, and courteous-especially during worship services, events, and guest interactions.
4. Policy Compliance:
All officers must comply with the Riverside Church Employee Handbook, which will be provided upon onboarding.
Security team members are expected to follow all church policies, procedures, and conduct guidelines without exception.
All issues, safety concerns, or violations of protocol must be promptly reported to the Director of Security. Timely reporting ensures proper documentation, response, and accountability.
Officers must remain informed of policy updates and participate in all required compliance training sessions.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid New York State Security Guard License. This license must be current and is verified at the time of hire.
Possess a valid Fire Guard Certificate (F-01 or equivalent), as required for this specific house of worship.
Be eligible to work in the United States and pass background screening in accordance with New York State and Riverside Church policies

Job Summary:

The FLSD will develop, implement, and manage fire and life safety programs, conduct drills and training sessions, and coordinate with local emergency response agencies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all NYC Fire Department (FDNY), OSHA, and other applicable fire and life safety regulations.
Develop, implement, and oversee fire safety programs and emergency response procedures.
Conduct regular fire and life safety inspections, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Lead fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency response training for staff and congregants.
Maintain all fire safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lighting, ensuring they are in proper working order.
Act as the primary liaison with the FDNY, emergency services, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure that Fire and Life Safety Plans, Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Building Information Cards (BICs) are up to date and in compliance with FDNY regulations.
Monitor and supervise fire safety staff and ensure proper coverage for all shifts.
Maintain all required documentation, reports, and records related to fire and life safety procedures.
Respond promptly and effectively to any fire or life safety emergencies.
Conduct training sessions for employees and security personnel regarding fire safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
Oversee contractors performing fire and life safety work to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Must be able to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting equipment when necessary.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with departments and supervisory staff.
Additionally, the Fire and Life Safety Director will also perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire safety, security management, or emergency response, preferably in a large facility or institutional setting.
Experience working in a religious or non-profit institution is a plus
Certificates and Licenses Required:
Valid FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fire and Life Safety Director (F-89/T-89) .
FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fire Drill Conductor (F-07) preferred.
FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Emergency Action Plan Director (EAPD) (F-85) preferred.
OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health Certification is a plus.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.
New York State Security License (if applicable).
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of NYC fire codes, NFPA regulations, and emergency response protocols.
Excellent leadership and crisis management skills.

This part-time, seasonal position will serve as teaching artist in the Chautauqua Arts Education Young Playwrights Project (YPP). This program is a 3-phase program. Phase 1 involves school visits where the YPP Teaching Artists present an assembly followed by an in-class lesson for each classroom at each participating school that teaches 3rd and 4th grade students how to write a play. Phase 2 involves YPP Teaching Artists leading teams of volunteers as they rehearse and then stage a play reading in each participating classroom. Phase 3 involves students visiting Chautauqua Institution to see a select number of plays chosen from all submitted, with the Teaching Artists serving as the performing theater company.
The YPP Teaching Artist/Actor will work under the leadership of the Young Playwrights Project Lead Teaching Artist/Director of Plays to implement the program curriculum in the schools. This person will also serve as actor in the Phase 3 plays, working with the Young Playwrights Project Lead Teaching Artist/Director of Plays to present the final performances of student plays. This position will report to the Director of Arts Education.

About Your Schedule

Job Summary
We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. Reporting to the Clubhouse Director, the Piano Teacher is responsible for on-site program delivery which is set in either one-on-one or group sessions.
Job Requirements

To that end, we require that all BCNY employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. BCNY requires all staff to receive a booster shot that protects against COVID-19 once they become eligible. Responsibilities
* Teach half-hour sessions per working day scheduled (Some one-on-one, some small group sessions)
* Record Annual Pre and Post Observations
* Keep Attendance Records (Parent outreach when needed)
* Work in small groups for end of season performances
* Care of equipment in State-of-the-Art studios
* Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a group of 10-21 boys (ages 7-9 or 10-12)

Qualifications
Education and teaching experience in the instrument you are applying for. Professional Musicians with performing experience preferred. Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool.

Part time To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position is focused on learning the basics of college campus ministry. This position is limited to students who are currently enrolled in a four-year or community college. Second year students and students enrolled at a community college may intern at a two-year/community college. Third year students and higher can work at a four-year or community college. Non-InterVarsity students who attend a Christian college must have third or fourth year standing.
The internship has a target start date of 08/01/2026, contingent on raising ministry support, beginning in March 2026. The internship ends 05/31/2026, with opportunity of continuation to full-time employment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate and engage fully with the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and direction
Contribute to the accomplishment of the campus ministry team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation
Teach students to love, study, and apply Scripture to their lives
Promote the Mission on campus (to advance witnessing communities that are bolder, broader, and more ethnically diverse):
Seek opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Learn to guide chapters (or assigned segments of a chapter) in the development of strategic thinking regarding witness to the university
Learn to model and assist students and faculty in growing in their love for God's people of every ethnicity and culture
Encourage a prayerful lifestyle in students, especially focusing on those who do not yet follow Jesus as Lord and Savior
Engage positively with the supervision and training you receive from your staff ministry trainer and/or director
Assist with reporting as assigned
Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to individual ministry partners and churches, through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishments
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Note: The pay range below represents a full-time position. Part-time pay range will be prorated from that amount to come to $12,000.
Pay Range: $31,320.00 - $41,772.00 per year
Pay: This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual's ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
