A leading EPC organization is seeking a Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist to support a large-scale heavy industrial construction project within the energy/petrochemical sector. This role is field-based and will serve as the primary safety leader on site, partnering closely with project management, craft leadership, and client safety teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and administer site-specific Safety & Health programs on heavy construction projects
Ensure compliance with OSHA 1910/1926, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and related standards
Conduct daily field safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs
Manage subcontractor safety performance and corrective actions
Exercise stop-work authority when conditions present immediate risk
Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events; recommend countermeasures
Deliver site safety orientations and ongoing safety training
Maintain audit-ready safety documentation and daily safety reports
Collaborate directly with client safety representatives and project leadership
Required Qualifications
Construction safety experience in heavy industrial, energy, petrochemical, power generation, or EPC environments
Minimum experience based on education:
Bachelor's degree + 7 years
Associate degree + 9 years
High school diploma/GED + 11 years
Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction and general industry regulations
Experience supporting high-risk activities such as confined space, hot work, crane & rigging, electrical/energized work
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
Preferred Credentials
OSHA 30 Construction
STSC, CHST, CSP (or equivalent)
Experience working with union craft labor and multi-subcontractor environments

Key Responsibilities:
+ Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation, including defensive driving, service area familiarization, passenger loading, unloading and securement.
+ Conducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.
+ Ensure all safety manuals, programs, policies, and procedures are current and meet the needs of the location.
+ Document all training activities and ensure accurate completion of all training-related employee records.
+ Establish a relationship with client and corporate personnel to identify additional training needs, resources, and opportunities.
+ Prepares and conducts monthly safety meetings.
+ Maintains an adequate and complete employee filing system and participates in audits and inspections to meet client and corporate expectations.

+ Conducts accident investigation using root-cause analysis and assigns employee re-training as required.
+ Responsible for maintaining/posting OSHA log.
+ Conducts road observations to evaluate operator safety, customer service, and systematic knowledge of the service.
+ Provides coaching and re-training as required on Drive Cam.
+ Respond to customer comments related to the service.
+ Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ Minimum of (3) years' experience in the passenger transportation industry.
+ Experience in location safety management and/or operations management.
+ Providing quality training, including the creation and management of training materials.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Observes workers to determine appropriate use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses helmets goggles, respirators, and clothing.
Inspection of specified areas for fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety
Tests working areas for hazard exposures (noise, toxic, ) using associated testing equipment.
Investigation of accidents per program procedures to establish root cause for use in recommending preventive safety measures.
Documenting all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions or behavior
Assisting in development of standardized job safety analysis (JSA), corporate safety and health management program (SHMP), as well as project specific safety plans (PSSP).
Conducts safety meetings with workers to instruct them on company/project safety practices and requirements.
Demonstrates use of equipment and conduct safety training
Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field.
7 years of previous construction experience.
1 year of previous experience as on-site safety person.
OSHA Outreach Trainer.
First Aid, CPR, and AED Trainer.
Working knowledge of government regulations, hazard control methods, and industrial hygiene.
Demonstrated ability to conduct training and influence organizational behavior.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
BCSP certification(s): CSP, ASP, GSP, OHST, CHST
Travel Requirements
25-60% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
